Zorba Philippidis (Greek: Ζορμπά Φιλιππίδης) is a minor character in Grand Theft Auto IV.

Background[]
Zorba was the Captain of the Platypus, a ship in the Merchant Navy. Its crew consisted of people from across the world, including Greece, Russia, Egypt, Taiwan, Thailand, China, Serbia, and Germany.
Events of Grand Theft Auto IV[]
Zorba's ship was used to smuggle drugs, diamonds, and cars into Liberty City. This ship is also the ship that brought Niko Bellic and Hossan Ramzy to Liberty City. He is seen on the bridge of the Platypus with a bottle of vodka in hand, with Ed the Mate and a generic Russian NPC, during the opening cutscene of The Cousins Bellic.
Shortly after the Platypus docked in Broker, the crew disembarked and disappeared. A few days later, Philippidis' body was found floating in the Humboldt River. An autopsy revealed he had drowned, and that he also had a large quantity of alcohol in his system. His body was returned to his wife in Thailand.[1]
