A newspaper with the headline.
"Zombie Elvis Found" is a recurring Easter egg newspaper headline in the 3D Universe of the Grand Theft Auto series.
Description[]
Grand Theft Auto III[]
The Easter egg consists of an illegible newspaper article from the Liberty Cock newspaper company, with the headline saying "Zombie Elvis Found" and a small advertisement saying "Win Shit!" The newspaper is one of the objects that can be found blowing around on the ground alongside tree leaves.
The newspaper also briefly appears in the form of a static prop during the Introduction cutscene, behind the Liberty City Bank in the "Ghost Town", alongside other unique garbage props.
The newspaper is a reference to real-life newspaper reports of sightings of Elvis Presley following his death in 1977.
In Grand Theft Auto III - The Definitive Edition, the newspaper headline was changed to "Zombie Rocker Found".
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City[]
This Easter egg returns in the PC version of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, replacing the Vice Voice newspaper headline about the Vice City SWAT from the original PlayStation 2 versions. It can be found in the same form as its previous appearance.
In addition, the newspaper can also be found in the form of an aerial banner towed by a DeadDodo plane, also replacing the original Vice Voice aerial banner advertisement.
Trivia[]
- According to the official description for Las Venturas on the manual for Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (San Andreas City Guides, page 45), "Belvis" is the in-universe version of Elvis Presley. This name was never used outside of the manual whatsoever.
