Design
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
The ZR-350 is strongly based on the 1992-2002 Mazda RX-7 but it's longer and bears the tail lights of a 1995-1998 Nissan Silvia S14 and of a 1989-1995 Nissan 240SX, only much bigger. It is the only car in the game to feature such headlights, which automatically pop up and turn on at dusk. It also features "ZR-350" on the taillights.
The name could be a reference to the 1990–1995 Corvette C4 which had a 350 cu in engine (it should also be noted that the elongated front can be mistaken for a C5 Corvette). The name of the ZR-350 may also be a reference to the Nissan 350Z, stating that the car has a 3.5L engine, even though its real-life counterpart did not exist in 1992. The name may also suggest that the car has a 350hp engine. This could also be a reference to 7, as in "RX-7", divided by 2.
There are two versions of this car; one with a spoiler and one without.

The ZR-350 returns to Grand Theft Auto Online (now named ZR350 without the hyphen), being manufactured by Annis. Similar to its appearance in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, the car is primarily based on the 1992-2002 Mazda RX-7 (FD). Its design shares many features with that of the real RX-7, even down to the engine bay, which depicts a rotary engine. The taillights are similar to the ones found on the Mazda MX-5 Miata (NB2), although the bulb housings are surrounded in black rather than red. The taillight housings on the ZR350 are separated, rather than connected. The headlight housing area is similar to those found on the RX-7, but the circular main beams are similar to those of the 1990-1997 Mazda MX-5 Miata (NA). Another difference between the ZR350 and RX-7 is the quad exhaust setup on the ZR350, as opposed to the right side twin exhaust setup on the RX-7. The vehicle also includes front bumper and spoiler options that can allow it to resemble later iterations (1998-2002) of the FD, such as the Spirit R.

Performance
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
The ZR-350 features a FR drivetrain layout and has a good top speed and acceleration.
However, it has poor traction when driving at high speeds as it usually drifts at high speeds.
It is slightly damage-resistant as slow collisions do not affect the vehicle too much.

Grand Theft Auto Online
The ZR350 features a high-revving two-rotor Wankel engine mated to a 5-speed in a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout. This gives the ZR350 a good top speed and decent acceleration.
However, it has poor traction overall and is very easy to destabilize. Additionally, when exiting a corner, the ZR350's rear end tends to kick out, which may be detrimental to inexperienced drivers. Use of the brakes is advised before driving over curbs, sidewalks, and uneven terrain and not to instantly accelerate. Wait for the car to point straight then continue accelerating out of corners to prevent the rear end to kick out upon corner exit. Fitting a spoiler mitigates this issue somewhat, but it still performs poorly compared to other cars in its class, like the Jester RR.
Crash deformation is comparable to other Los Santos Tuners vehicles; a few hits to the vehicle will result in the hood or trunk opening slightly depending on the point of impact, but the headlights and other glass components break easily in the event of a collision.

Prominent Appearances in Missions
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
- The Introduction - A parked ZR-350 briefly makes an appearance, where it can be seen in the part with Mike Toreno and Mendez beating a man. Also, Carl tries to steal one in Liberty City.
- Wu Zi Mu - In the cutscene, you can see a dark grey ZR-350, on which Claude is seated.
- Farewell, My Love... - A black ZR-350 is the vehicle that Carl Johnson uses for the mission. This version has off-road tires, hence the fact that a large portion of the race is driven off-road. In theory; as noted above, the car's tendency to drift at high speeds makes it difficult to handle on the very winding route of the track, and unlike many other vehicles, the slightest bump is capable of flipping the vehicle; it also appears that the car used in this level is less damage-resistant than normal, as only a few collisions (with other vehicles or with scenery) is enough to make the vehicle begin smoking. Despite the car being black during races, there is a common glitch during cutscenes which makes the car appear to shift between black and a shimmering silver. It can be kept after the mission.
- Photo Opportunity - T-Bone Mendez comes to Angel Pine with a brown ZR-350, although the car is unobtainable after the mission.
- 555 We Tip - In the cutscene when CJ arrives at the Valet Parking, there will always be a randomly coloured ZR-350, which a random pedestrian has parked. It can be obtained without failing the mission but its colour will be random.
- Race Tournaments - In Badlands B the player uses it for the race. The car is identical to the ZR-350 in Farewell, My Love...
- Exports and Imports - The ZR-350 is one of the 30 vehicles wanted for the side-mission. Placed on the third list.

Trivia
General
- The default radio stations for the ZR-350 are:
- GTA San Andreas: SF-UR.
- GTA Online: FlyLo FM, Los Santos Underground Radio, Music Locker Radio and Soulwax FM.
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
- A model car of the ZR-350 can be found in Zero RC shop in Garcia, San Fierro.
- The front bumper of the ZR-350 cannot be damaged.
- Unlike its real life variant (Mazda RX-7 FD3S), it does not consist of a front lip which is why the front bumper cannot be damaged at all, no matter at what speed it crashes.
Grand Theft Auto Online
- The "Classic Annis Racing" and "Classic Annis Racing Alt" liveries resemble the Mazda RX-7 IMSA GTO.
- The "Atomic Drift Team" livery resembles that of the Falken Tire RX-7 Formula Drift car.
- Similar liveries, called "Atomic Drift" and "Atomic Drifter", are also available on the Jester Classic and Albany V-STR, respectively.
- The "Winning is Winning" livery resembles Dom's RX-7 from The Fast and the Furious (2001). It is a reference to the quote Dom says in the film.
- A similar livery, called "Stoplight Racer", is available on the Banshee 900R.
- The "Kisama Chevrons" livery appears to be based on a sketch by Skinhunters.
- With correct modification, the car can be modified to resemble the Mazda RX-7 driven by Keisuke Takahashi from the Initial D series.
Bugs/Glitches
Grand Theft Auto Online
- Having a rollcage and aftermarket seats installed at the same time will make the top of the seat clip into the rollcage.
- This is especially noticeable with the "Carbon Fiber Race Seat" option.
- Some of the Street wheels will clip through the brake calipers.
- The foglights will still remain functional even if they’re removed from the front bumper.
