Yuanbao are a seasonal collectible event in Grand Theft Auto Online, added as part of the continuation of the Agents of Sabotage update released during the Year of the Snake Week on January 23, 2025.
Description[]
There are 36 Yuanbao treasures scattered throughout the state of San Andreas, located at different locations. Unique sounds can be heard on a loop when within range of a Yuanbao, until it is collected.
There are three variations of Yuanbao treasures:
Upon reaching a Yuanbao, it will give a notification to the player to collect it.
After collecting the first Yuanbao during a day, the player can track up to 36 Yuanbao treasures in the Collectibles section of the Interaction Menu.
After collecting 36 Yuanbao treasures, the interaction menu stat will be 36/36.
Influence[]
A Yuanbao (Chinese: 元寶 / 元宝; Pinyin: yuánbǎo; lit. 'primary treasure') was a type of gold and silver ingot currency used in Imperial China. The gold Yuanbao is commonly used as a symbol of wealth and prosperity during the Chinese New Year festivities in present-day Chinese culture, which is what the event is inspired by.
The reward value is a reference to the lucky number 8 (Chinese: 八; Pinyin: bā) in Chinese culture, as it has a similar pronunciation to the word meaning to generate wealth (Chinese: 發 / 发; Pinyin: fā). The combination of multiple 8s also symbolizes more good luck.

Each collected Yuanbao rewards the player with $888 (the last one for $88,888) and 888RP.
Collecting all Yuanbao treasures will reward the player with The Gold Snake Santo Capra Outfit.
