A collection of wrecks behind Flywheels Garage in Grand Theft Auto V

Not to be confused with Beaters.

Wrecks are unusable (prop) versions of land, sea and air vehicles found around the maps of all the Grand Theft Auto games since the original first Grand Theft Auto, except Grand Theft Auto: London 1969, Grand Theft Auto: London 1961 and Grand Theft Auto Advance.

History

Wrecks have been featured in certain forms beginning in Grand Theft Auto III, where scrapped cars and school buses of unknown origins are scattered in various junkyards. GTA III's scrapped vehicles are also featured in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, although such wrecks may also be sighted in a wider range of locations. The first known drivable vehicle to appear as a wrecked prop is the Walton in GTA San Andreas, where a rusting Walton is present in rural San Andreas. HD Universe titles see the vast majority of wrecks based on existing vehicles in the game. Some of the wrecks in these games can be seen piled up, with a plank leaning on them, forming the base of unique stunt jumps.

	Ruiner	An "almost wrecked" version of the Ruiner with the front of a Ruiner 2000, featuring a deformed bodywork, deformed wheels, rusty paintjob and a worn interior. Unlike other wrecks however, it is considered an entirely separate, driveable vehicle sharing the same .gxt2/entry name and having invisible wheels (the actual wheels are simply part of the vehicle's chassis and do not affect the handling in any way). GTA IV	Unknown	A wreck of an unknown 1990s 4-door sedan in GTA IV, the greenhouse bears a strong resemblance to the Primo (possibly a beta version) or the Elegant from GTA San Andreas. This is the most common wreck in GTA IV but has no equivalent non-wreck model.		GTA IV

The wreck appears in the Los Santos Storm Drain, the Murrieta Oil Field Car Scrapyard in El Burro Heights, Rogers Salvage & Scrap in La Puerta, and Sandy Shores Airfield. The model of this wreck is otherwise unseen in the HD Universe but is exactly the same as the wrecked buses featured in Max Payne 3, a game also developed by Rockstar Games. Trivia

• The Blista Compact wreck's texture contains an Easter egg message: "strange glass manufactured by ATOMIC. if you are reading this then you must be mad and have nothing better to do. go and play the game. thats what we made it for".
• Other wrecks appear in other Rockstar games, particularly Max Payne and Manhunt.
