The Virgo is a full-size two-door coupé appearing in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories.
The car goes on to appear in the HD Universe, where it is named Virgo in Grand Theft Auto IV and later renamed Virgo Classic in Grand Theft Auto Online. Another Virgo was also added to Grand Theft Auto V, but no longer resembles the Mercury Cougar family.
Influence[]
In all of its appearances, the Virgo is designed to resemble a high-end two-door American coupe, with elements borrowed from the 1977–1979 Mercury Cougar, the 1977–1979 Lincoln Continental Mark V, and the 1974–1976 Buick Riviera. The side windows, front end, and bulge on the trunk resemble the Cougar; the taillights resemble those of the Continental Mark V, albeit with some lights missing; and the headlights are similar to the Riviera's.
Design[]
Between Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories, the Virgo remained largely the same, depicted with a bulky front bumper with overriders, square-shaped grille and headlamps, and an elevated central section of the hood. The sides are depicted with a silver trim passing through the whole lenght of the car, with curved trim over the wheel arches. The rear is distinctively slanted and features vertical tail lights, horizontal strips, a bulged trunk and another bumper with overriders, with two exhaust pipes located below. The Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas rendition seems to have a more visible trim on the cabin and on the rear end, and the tail lights omit the reverse lights as well.
In terms of color choices, the Virgo may come with primary body colors with a variety of secondary colors applied on the vinyl landau, including black, brown, cream, white, or in GTA Vice City Stories' case, the same matching color as the body's.
Performance[]
The Virgo possesses generally average performance credentials, with moderate acceleration, responsive steering, and a mediocre top speed. Its weight and crash endurance are unremarkable.
In GTA Vice City Stories, in comparison with its other counterparts, the Virgo is a front-wheel-drive car, it has a slightly lower top speed, and is lighter in mass. Moreover, it now has a five-speed gearbox, instead of a four-speed gearbox.

Trivia[]
- The Virgo's name derives from the name of the sixth astrological sign of the Zodiac. It is also the Latin name for the Virgin Mary.
- The Virgo cameos in a picture from Starkweather's mansion in Manhunt. Several safehouses in GTA San Andreas have the same picture hanging on the wall (the picture was originally a beta screenshot for GTA Vice City).
- The above mentioned beta model for GTA Vice City was called the "Cougar", further indicating that the vehicle was based on a Mercury Cougar. The only difference between the "Cougar" beta vehicle and the regular Virgo is that the former retains the full set of tail lights from the Lincoln Continental Mark V. This model was reused for GTA San Andreas, albeit with minor differences, most notably the rear.
