Vinyl Countdown is a music store located in both Vice City (in 1984 & 1986) and Los Santos (in 1992), and appears in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories.

Description[]

In Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories, the store is located at the Vice Point Mall in 1984. It features a cardboard replica of Phil Collins. Along with Ammu-Nation, they are the only businesses to be present in the mall in both Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories. Another music store, Needle Trax, can also be found in the mall at this time.

In Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, the store, which is again found at the North Point Mall in 1986 has an accessible interior. It is also one of fifteen stores that must be robbed for 100% completion.

In Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, the store has 2 branches in Los Santos, of which one branch is located at Market and another one is located at Rodeo. Unlike the Vice City location, both of these locations are inaccessible to CJ and plays no role in the storyline whatsoever. There is also a small billboard of both Love Fist and a Lance Vance look alike, with the message "Let's go to Dundee!!".

In all appearances, the logo of Vinyl Countdown has the first "o" replaced with a black gramophone record, making it only partially visible on the usual dark background. This results in yet another one of Rockstar's sexual jokes, the resulting combination being "Vinyl Cuntdown".
