Vigilante is a law enforcement vehicle-based side mission available in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
Description[]
In order to start the mission, the player must find a law enforcement vehicle and press the button shown on the instruction text (platform dependent) to toggle the side mission on or off.
Once the mission is started, the player is given the criminal's last known location and a timer. The player must chase down and eliminate the criminal to pass the level and get a time bonus for the following level.
In order to achieve the 100% Completion requirement, the player must complete 12 levels in a row.
Brown Thunder[]
Alternatively to land vehicles, players can start the side mission using the Hunter, and use its mounted machine guns and missiles to complete the mission faster. Its vehicle side mission is titled "Brown Thunder" in-game.
Aside from the side-mission name, the mission progression will be normally counted towards the Vigilante side mission. If the 100% Completion requirement is achieved through Brown Thunder, it won't be necessary to replay the land vehicle variant of the mission.
Reward[]
After completing level 12, the player's Body Armor points will be increased by 50%.
