For the drug squad in the original Grand Theft Auto, see Vice Squad (2D Universe).

The Vice Squad are an elite branch of the Vice City Police Department in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories.

Description[]

The Vice Squad officers appear, and begin to chase, the player upon reaching a three-star wanted level. Killing a Vice Squad member will cause them to drop their Micro SMG as well as two wads of cash. The Vice Squad members are the only law enforcement members who drop money upon being killed. The Vice Squad members always arrive as two unaided officers, dressed casually, but tastefully.

In GTA Vice City, there are six Vice Squad officers, only two of which are selected randomly when chasing the player. In GTA Vice City Stories, there are only two Vice Squad officers; one is Caucasian and the other is African-American.

    • There is a black officer - a reference to Rico Tubbs.

  • The "Vice Squad" graffiti can be seen on the walls all over Liberty City in Grand Theft Auto IV.
  • On the police scanner in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, a policeman complains about how the Vice Squad always get the really fast cars, and questions how much money they make.
