History

Background

Vasily is a Russian resident of Liberty City in 2008, and a close friend of Oleg Minkov, a man wanted by the International Affairs Agency (IAA) for spread subversive ideas against the American government.

Events of Grand Theft Auto IV

In 2008, Niko Bellic, hired by the IAA (undercover as the United Liberty Paper), goes to Oleg Minkov's Apartment in Iroquois Avenue, Broker, Liberty City and finds out that Minkov is not home; however, his laptop is present, allowing Niko to discover Minkov's email to him. The email is about him agreeing to meet Minkov at a jewellery store on Tulsa Street, Broker, allowing Niko to discover Minkov's location and kill him. Vasily can also be killed during the incident but his fate does not affect the main story line.
