The Vapid Utility Truck is a utility pickup truck appearing in Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online.
Influence[]
Grand Theft Auto V and Online[]
Assuming the design of a GTA IV Contender, it appears to be based on an 11th generation Ford F-150 and the Ford F-250/F-450 "Super Duty" chassis, using the appropriate utility-box accessories seen on commercial variants.
Design[]
Grand Theft Auto V and Online[]
The vehicle's cab design remains unchanged from the GTA IV version of the Vapid Contender, however the front bumper sports a plate holder and a brush guard with a small stone deflector. It also sports a smooth hood with no vents.
The cabin area remains identical to that of the regular version, but the formations on the silver/chrome skirting area are a bit shorter and have long steps added, while the cabin features black rear pillars, a visor above the windshield and marker lights on the roof.
The rear utility bed is similar to that of the Utility Van appearing in GTA San Andreas , having numerous compartments on either side, a silver/chrome finish on the lower portions and black fender arches, while most of the upper surfaces of the bed walls are finished in silver/chrome and have slanted shapes on the rearmost section. The rear end has a small tailgate in the center and square tail lights similar to the Camper and the Ambulance, while the bumper has a silver/chrome finish on the upper surface and the lower portions, together with a plate holder. Its interior is shared with many utility vehicles, such as the second generation Burrito and the Stockade.
The van only spawns in a rusty/worn appearance with an O'Connor livery on the doors. It also features numerous utility equipment extras which spawn in the rear bed, similar to its industrial variant. These extras are static and cannot be detached from the vehicle, unlike those in the small utility trailer:
- A series of sand bags, a red tool box and a white bucket. Labelled

internally. - Sand bags, a wheel barrow, two buckets and a broom. Labelled

internally.
None of the extra components can co-exist at any time.
It only spawns in a white primary color applied to the whole body and uses the same wheel design as the GTA IV iteration of the Contender.

Performance[]
Grand Theft Auto V and Online[]
The Utility Truck is not very different from its 3D Universe equivelant and seems to behave like a heavy truck with low acceleration and top speed (even lower than the Stockade-based truck).
The engine's low power, low traction and the rear-wheel-drive layout makes it a poor choice for off-roading, as it would not be capable to handle steep hills unless the truck drives at high speeds. The ground clearance, however, still provides decent handling over uneven terrain, ideal for casual driving around the city or wilderness. Black exhaust smoke emits from the vehicle when idle or shifting gear, suggesting it is an aging and poorly-maintained truck.
As suggested by its engine cover, the truck is powered by a V8 engine with an air filter in the intake, coupled to a 4-speed gearbox in a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout. It shares the sound with vans such as the Pony and the Speedo.
