Revolter images

Your images of the Revolter were of good quality except for a vital requirement. The rules dictated by us for the provision of images for these galleries are very specific and non-negotiable. The location specified was selected not only to provide uniformity of background but to provide scale guides by way of the seams in the panels of the ramps. Images taken against the backdrop at Backlot City are not permitted to be used. Thanks. Smurfy: illuminate - communicate - spectate 10:16, January 28, 2018 (UTC)

Appreciate the reminder. I'll redo the updates in the appropriate location later. Here's a list of vehicle images I've found troublesome, you may wish to delete/rename them as well:
These are what I've spotted so far. Certainly there are more in truck categories, but I doubt they are regularly accessed. Also the lack of mention for sea vehicles in the MoS is rather confusing. Noirlime4L (talk) 13:23, January 28, 2018 (UTC)
"Most Infobox images" - What on earth are you on about? The infobox images don't follow the Design Gallery MOS - they're quality images showing two quarters of the vehicle in a suitable location. No idea why on earth you find them "troublesome".
Ingot and Radius - fair enough, they were taken during snow. They still do the job, but aren't perfect.
9F and Furore GT have been on my "redo" list for a while now.
Insurgent - incorrect color and location, but otherwise quality and angles are fine. Will consider redoing.
Snow Mesa - didn't do this one, but yeah, needs sorting out.
Police Rancher - ditto
Roadcruiser - ditto
Clown Van - ditto
All cycles - ditto
Dashboards - what? Most of them are fine, a couple are obscured but you can see the details inside. Note that the dashboard view should be what you can actually see when in first person mode - the "interior" view covers what might not be visible, not the other way around.
Sea vehicles haven't been started yet. It's not "confusing", it's just not been started yet. Obviously just take pictures in the sea, where they belong.
Kiwismurf IS Smurfynz. While his images aren't perfect, they do meet the requirements and do meet the standards, just aren't as good as some other examples. That's why these images are a lower priority at the moment. I'm quite offended in all honesty, given I did the vast majority of design galleries and infobox images. Monk Talk 14:02, January 28, 2018 (UTC)
Thank you for clarifying, Monk. And I'm sorry for making you feel uncomfortable, that hostility wasn't intended. But as you said, that infobox images don't follow MoDG, shouldn't there be a note about this, since they can be from DG and also show vehicle designs? The content of most Smurfynz's images are a match, that's a given. Yet the naming is a total mess, hence the rename suggestion I stated above.
As for the dashboards, Smurfy took mine down for the same consistency reason, that's why I thought it'd be necessary to let him know more of those I found seemingly problematic ones. Noirlime4L (talk) 15:16, January 28, 2018 (UTC)
A good point made about the infobox images - usually when they are in the design gallery, its because they either act as placeholders, or just because the person who did the design gallery couldn't be bothered/didn't think it was necessary to capture front/rear quarters. I almost always get the front and rear quarters for the the design gallery. As the MOS for Design Galleries is titled "Design Galleries", I didn't think it would be necessary to mention infobox images, but as you say, some infobox images do appear in there, so perhaps that needs to be addressed, or just fixed altogether - no infobox images inside the design gallery, maybe?
Also, yes, Smurfy has always had a rather different approach to naming images - some users on the wiki insist on using the "-" (dash) to separate words and subjects, while others use the "_". I've always gone for - simply because it looks neater, although I've heard that "_" allows external searches to find images better - but anyway, I've stuck with what I've done for the past 4 years. Either way, some of his images, regardless of - or _, don't meet the naming requirements, I do see that. Since, as you said, some of Smurfy's images don't meet the standards of the other design galleries, we can either rename them right now, or just replace the design gallery when it comes to it. Most of his images were obtained at the time of the design gallery's introduction, perhaps they were "rushed" for exactly that.
Dashboards - I never really mind what exactly is in the dashboard image, so long as the dashboard is clearly visible (strong shadows or tinted visors ruin the visibility). That said, perhaps he just deleted it because it was part of a design gallery that, as a whole, didn't match the location requirements. I usually get a dashboard picture while at the site of the skateboard ramps simply because, why not, lol. Monk Talk 15:41, January 28, 2018 (UTC)
A little history lesson for you that may explain much of the inconsistency you are observing. The design gallery template was my invention in 2014 and I originally did all the development on it and provided the content, Monk joined in and we shared the long joblist of populating the GTAV vehicle pages. At the time it was first implemented (let's call it v1) we had already got high quality front quarter, rear quarter, dashboard and sometimes engine and badges views and we decided not to replace them. After I retired my Smurfynz ID and left Wikia, Monk valiantly carried on that work alone and eventually revised the template and tightened the rules around its use (v2). So any gallery with Smurfynz images would have been done under old rules. As for my peculiarities around image naming rules... I have lightened up on my distaste for using a hyphen as a word separator but still generally only use it between Subject-Game-Description. When the enhanced version of GTAV was released, I also tried to use GTAVe as the descriptor to differentiate the content that may not be in the original GTAV but that never really caught on. So, yeah, I deleted all 12 of your images when 4 of them may have been keepable (matching many existing galleries) but any new gallery set should really be a set now. Staff Role

Hello. We have several Patroller positions vacant here at GTA Wiki and I believe you would be an ideal candidate. Even though you probably think I have something against you, I don't. Your first experience of a dispute with staff pretty much mirrors my own. Go here if you are interested. Smurfy: illuminate - communicate - spectate 09:23, March 14, 2018 (UTC)

Oh, okay. Thanks for the opportunity here. Haven't really considered this, I will check it out. Noirlime4L (talk) 16:57, March 16, 2018 (UTC)

I tried to upload the pictures

But I failed. There are no pictures of Downtown Dirt Track or Vice City Transport Police on this Wikia. However, they are on the other internet sites, like Google or other language versions of this Wikia. How can I get these pictures from other internet sites?Kintobor (talk) 22:02, March 23, 2018 (UTC)Kintobor

You're better off asking a Staff member about this to avoid raising copyright issues. But to download an image from Wiki, you can click the image, and click "More Info" (if it doesn't redirect you already), then choose "Original File". That way you should be able to store it locally. No problem. I'll rename it right away. I'll replace it with a file extract. PS: have you thought about staff positions? The work you're doing is fantastic here. Monk Talk 20:20, March 28, 2018 (UTC)
Change of plan - looked at the model, that's apparently an engraved (sort of) logo so not really a badge, so it can retain its name as detail :) Monk Talk 20:23, March 28, 2018 (UTC)
Yes, I have, ever since Smurfy recommended, just been trying to catch up with the contrib count while thinking this through. And now I think I'm ready. But what would I have to do with such a position? Noirlime Talk | Contrib 15:14, March 29, 2018 (UTC)
The reason we suggested it because we didn't think you needed to catch up to the edit count required :) generally, users who have under 500 edits but have shown an excellent amount of progress and dedication are still accepted, but put onto trial.
Patrollers are able to revert edits without going through the "undo" process - a simple "revert" button immediately reverts any contributions a particular user has made to an article, making reverting vandalism much easier. I've noticed you've undone various examples of vandalism in the past before any admin could, so you'd only be adding to the monitoring system, which is great. Patrollers are also able to kick and/or ban users from chat, however, given not many people use the chat anymore, I wouldn't get too excited about that, haha. Oh, also, you are able to give users warnings if they fail to comply with official policies. Monk Talk 17:15, March 29, 2018 (UTC)

...And you will be able to rename files and pages yourself. The roĺlback tool is most helpful when a user has made multiple invalid edits. Undo only reverts single edits. Roĺlback can do multiple edits fron a single user. But like Monk said, the reason you were identified as a candidate for the role is you were already doing the job., without having all the tools.. obviously monitoring recent changes and undoing invalid or disruptive edits. Smurfy: illuminate - communicate - spectate 19:14, March 29, 2018 (UTC)

Big cars

So annoying, both the Tyrant and Flash GT just seem to be scaled incorrectly... it's like having a collection of 1/24th scale models and then putting two 1/20th models next to them, they're just obviously out of kilter. Like one of the vehicle modelling teams had the wrong scale settings in their Maya/3DSMax or whatever they are using and no-one picked it up. But then, the overall quality of the modelling is inconsistent now - the Jester Classic looks like it was done in Google Sketchup. Maybe they've already outsourced GTAO to India and are concentrating on RDR2 :) Smurfy: illuminate - communicate - spectate 12:05, May 1, 2018 (UTC)

yeah I noticed this. The Tyrant is nicely detailed tho, good shape and style. The Visione is one of those really detailed vehicles, and the RCV has one of the highest poly counts yet too. Monk Talk 10:27, May 4, 2018 (UTC)

Since the SAM Battery is only a modification, we don't need a design gallery of it, as it's the same model. The images can be used for the modification images, though (for example, Anti-Aircraft Trailer and Visione.) --Monk Talk 14:11, May 4, 2018 (UTC)

Okay, for now I'll move two of them to IG. 👌 Noirlime Talk | Contribs 14:30, May 4, 2018 (UTC)

Design Galleries

While your images are ok, I'm still not satisfied with most of them. If you're using a trainer, why not use car rotation to get all the different camera angles? You can open the trainer and begin recording (F1) rotating the car on spot before finishing the recording again. The direction of sunlight means you can't see the details on the rear end of half of your pictures. Also, your engine pictures don't really get a proper view of the engine itself, rather than a top down view, I go for a quarter view so I can see the manifolds and any additional parts. For interiors, I always ensure I can see both sides of the dashboard as well as the pedals of the car. Monk (Bureaucrat.png Bureaucrat) Talk 10:04, May 12, 2018 (UTC)

Yes, car rotation. That I have recently started to use, images for Off-Road & Military vehicles are examples. Those you're seeing right now are from March or even February era. In the end I might as well consider them placeholders and redo them in the near future. As for top-down and interior views, well, I personally think there should be as little space left for the background as possible. Noirlime Talk | Contribs 10:27, May 12, 2018 (UTC)

Any reason you reverted my edit to Adder? Rail88 (talk) 11:10, May 16, 2018 (UTC)

You yourself have stated the reason behind this: "...which was still in development when the game was released." A car that didn't officially exist until 2016 shouldn't be considered a real-life inspiration. Noirlime Talk | Contribs 12:32, May 16, 2018 (UTC)
The existing fact was relevant - at the time of development the Chiron did not exist by that name - and the "Super Veyron" was what was used. Smurfy: illuminate - communicate - spectate 23:58, May 16, 2018 (UTC)

The "Super Veyron" ultimately became the Chiron. The concept art is almost identical to the Adder. Would there be any issue, then, with specifying that it appears to be based on the concept art for the Chiron (as opposed to the Chiron itself)? Seems that that would satisfy this issue and correct the clearly erroneous assertion that the Adder resembles a Veyron SS in any significant way. Rail88 (talk) 01:06, May 17, 2018 (UTC)

I don't think there would be. You can put it like this: "Rather than being based on the standard Bugatti Veyron, the Adder takes inspirations from the Super Veyron concept, a precursor to the Bugatti Chiron, in that they share almost identical side and rear profile..." The rest can be kept. Noirlime Talk | Contribs 10:32, May 17, 2018 (UTC)

Cheers :) Usually with any vehicles with a rear door/doors I also show the rear interior, with all model variants of it too, as sometimes they differ inside. See Boxville to get an idea. This goes in the image gallery. Monk (Bureaucrat.png Bureaucrat) Talk 16:28, June 8, 2018 (UTC)

Weaponized Vehicles

Hello. How are ya?

You did it great with those After Hours vehicles and some others from previous updates, as those are pretty useful to know which weapons these can use.

My question is that if you still have time for some other vehicles which still lack weapon add-ons, like the Weaponized Tampa, the RM-10 Bombushka or the Barrage. It's okay if you don't have plans for these, I know you also spend some time for cars with liveries and stuff like that. Costa Rican Gang

You reverted my edits:

But you can see these are valid points, test them youself in the game. Most everything written is based on speculation, also I do not ever recall the game mentioning the word "costa rican gang". The player statistics is a valid enough source, they are listed tehre in least favorite gang as Cuban gang. Also they never fight cuban gang and vice versa, but they attack anyother gang (e.g. Haitians) if you lure them to the boat yard and vice versa. I suggest at least leaved this point as a trivia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Shak00001 (talkcontribs) Please remember to sign your talk page messages with ~~~~.

In all honesty, yes I do agree with leaving this as a trivia statement. But even as a trivia, speculations should be kept at minimum, or none at all. Other two admins haven't replied yet, I would like to see their thoughts on this. Noirlime Talk | Contribs 09:22, September 16, 2018 (UTC)

Good day, I have noticed that you have decided to integrate the information about the Akula into the body of the Buckingham article. While I greatly appreciate your initiative, I have reverted your edit, as I feel that such a change should first be discussed on the Buckingham article's Talk page before making such a change, as it is possible that the manufacturer was associated with the Akula in error, since Buckingham is never mentioned as the Akula's manufacturer in-game. Please post your arguments as to why you think that the Akula should be added to the article body on the Talk page, and if there is sufficient agreement that it should be so, you may restore your change.

Hello, Noirlime. How's going?

Sorry for bothering you, but I just want to solve 2 things regarding the screenshots:

  1. I already finished the Dominator GTX with all of the 98 screenshots for every modification, but apparently, the whole "Hoods" group was missing. Good thing is, the image names are still there, although hidden.
  2. I see you already completed the Freecrawler with your own set using an orange example, but I still have a folder with the car modifications on it, which is a grey example. My question is: should I keep yours intact or do I have to work on it anyways?

Well, I think that's all for now. Cheers. --BodyArmor-GTACW-Android.png SWAT Cam F VehicleWeapon-GTACW-Android.png Dispatch Data Files 04:51, March 5, 2019 (UTC)

No, it's because we don't teach people how to play the game step by step, that's patronizing. Tips for missions are the furthest we should go. Atop of that, demanding readers to click a link (x can be found here) is also something we'd like to avoid. NoirlimeTalk | Contribs

Plus, Franklin's ability is used differently than the Speedbraker from NFS games. It's used to weave between cars and such, whereas activating speedbreaker increases mass to allow the car to easily break through roadblocks and to make sharp turns. From experience, it doesn't make weaving between cars any easier. Matrexpingvin (talk) 12:45, June 10, 2019 (UTC)

It's not a report, or a warning. It's to remind you that when uploading images, you must also choose the licensing accordingly. And then there's your naming convention. What you're accustomed to right now is technically correct, but still off, for example this file. DugganFamily-GTAO-SS1.jpg would be a more appropriate name. NoirlimeTalk | Contribs

GTA Wiki:Trivia. What you added doesn't really count as miscellaneous information, does it? So why don't you take some time and find a way to integrate it in the Performance section?
And seeing the message you dropped on Monk's talk page, you seem to have a tendency of taking things personally. I should tell you that no one on the wiki has a grudge with you, except for mere first impressions. NoirlimeTalk | Contribs 16:29, August 20, 2019 (UTC)

I take things personally becuase it's how you admins work. Anyways, i can't really integrate that into the Preformance section of the Buzzard. It's just a minor note, so why can't it stay in the Trivia section?

Caracara 4x4

Greetings, i've noticed you have an addiction to stating wrong facts in the forums to mislead people. I'm not trying to be a "jackass" of any type, but if someone's right, the edit should be left in the article. You can discuss with my all you want, i said that in the last edit notes, but you were blind and just edited back the wrong things.

I'm aware you're an Admin, so in no way is this a disrespect for your person, but at the same time, you should accept when people who know what they're talking about to teach you something. That is all. Have a great day.

RustyRenesis (talk) 12:11, August 23, 2019 (UTC)

You are not making any sense. Just because some modification parts are from a certain vehicle doens't make said vehicle its main inspiration. In this case, the Caracara is based on the Hennessey VelociRaptor 6x6, which in itself is a modified, elongated F-150 Raptor. This automatically qualifies its little brother Caracara 4x4 as a F-150 Raptor parody.
Tl;dr: Rockstar can get creative as much as they want.
Matrex has left you a warning on your talk page. Take that into consideration and think twice before getting condescending. NoirlimeTalk | Contribs 12:20, August 23, 2019 (UTC)

There's a Uzi in both GTA IV DLCs, a Normal Uzi is seen in the Lost and Damned artwork and a Golden Uzi in the Ballard of Gay Tony also known as the gold smg. There both the same gun with different textures and both are stockless. Turzy310 (talk) 11:31, November 16, 2019 (UTC)

Weapons in The Lost and Damned#Others. Not the same gun. Besides that, materials depicted in artworks don't necessarily represent actual game content, linking the two together would be folly. NoirlimeTalk | Contribs 12:09, November 16, 2019 (UTC)

Wrecks Edit

Why did you revert my edit? Pointing out similarities to a car from a 3D era game is a stretch when there is a car in the game that looks similar and it would make more sense that it's a beta version of that. Occam's Razor, and all. And the other one looks nothing like a Sentra from behind, while having the distinctive taillights seen on the Alfa 75.

Cosmicdustjunkie (talk) 00:41, December 8, 2019 (UTC)

I see your point. While you may reinstate the information, please do it without removing existing valid statements. Assumptions made from a different perspective don't put off the others as false, that was the reason I reverted your edit. NoirlimeTalk | Contribs 07:25, December 8, 2019 (UTC)

The problem I have with the other assumptions is that they are such arbitary comparisons based on very generic features and stretching to compare 3D era models, when the wrecks were clearly designed as HD models. Also, they openly admit massive caveats to the comparisons ("with a different greenhouse design" and "it's a four door instead of two door"). If you actually look at them side to side, the Bravura comparison is just absurd.
In fact, I think the first one may well just be a Primo wreck, the greenhouse and character line along the body are identical. I'll try to find one in-game to see the rear end design when I get a chance.

Japanese translations

This makes absolutely zero sense. Fair enough, if the word is literally derived from Japanese/German/whatever, then a translation from/to is absolutely fine, but translating words that aren't even from a foreign language based solely on the vehicle's real-life origin is both inaccurate and pointless. Not to mention half of the vehicles with said translations don't have a Japanese/German/whatever counterpart in every single one of their appearances (the Mule for instance, isn't based on a Japanese vehicle in the 3D Universe, let alone is the word Japanese).

I strongly disagree with keeping these. But I won't bother changing it myself, because apparently logic isn't a strong point of yours. Monk Talk 20:08, December 16, 2019 (UTC)

100% Agreed. Unless the word has Japanese origins, it does not need to be translated to Japanese on the English wiki just because the manufacturer is Japanese. As stated, we're not putting German translations or Italian translations on their models either. I actually thought you have been reverting all his insertions but I see you have left many in place and I can't see a logic pattern. Smurfy: illuminate - communicate - spectate 20:22, December 16, 2019 (UTC)
Regards to you both. Your point perfectly stands, perhaps even more steadily than mine, because at current rate, what we have here too strays away from my vision a bit far ahead. But here's where I'm going to begin: The goal both him and I were intending to achieve is something like this on Wikipedia, where the transliteration and original name sit equal at the intro section. And in doing so, we'd already ruled out whether or not it was a native word as a matter to attend to. As Japanese the language, has a vocabulary drastically different from others. Its heavy use of loan words and constant substituting them for native words have none but made the two types of words more unintelligible. In short, without definitive citations, where one would state a word in this context is a loan word or otherwise, there is no telling if a word is a mere transliteration imitating its pronunciation or if the word has taken its meaning into the JP vocabulary and been integrated in daily speech. And hence brings the reason we're doing it: To make sure both sides are covered, incase of missing a reference. But apparently Christopher has taken it steps ahead of me, using my experimental edits on the Everon page as an example to push it all the way through, leaving me having to finish it at once, in a pattern which I'll explain later.
I've talked about the reason, now let's get to factors. Here's a short table.
Question Wikipedia Christopher and I's edits
Accurate? Yes Yes (Game language files)
On English wiki? Yes Yes
Vehicle in question of JP origin? Yes Yes
Word in question native? Not always Not always
Word has a particular meaning when transliterated? Not always Not always
Necessary as part of article? No No
To summarize, I'm utterly saying, "Wikipedia is doing the same thing. Why don't we follow their footsteps as well? Wouldn't harm." But the decision was rather questionable, to say the least.
Smurfy asked about the logic pattern behind the changes when I dealt with Christopher's insertions. There is one. My standards are simple:
  1. Vehicle must have resemblance to real-life Japanese vehicles to some extent. If it's not JP-based, it wouldn't make sense to even bother adding transliterations, regardless of its brand. Also notice the present tense. What matters is what is, not what was. A vehicle's inspiration in previous installments of the title does not intrude with what it is now in its latest appearance.
  2. The transliteration must the same as in the game. It'll only cause inconsitencies if it's not going to match with official release. It's also the reason I made amendments on some of my past mistakes at the time. And last time I checked, GTA IV's localization didn't cover such proper nouns as vehicle names, so Christopher's additions to GTA IV articles were nowhere near correct from the beginning. And I'm afraid this is also the case for other titles except GTA V, but to talk about it is another story.
This is the end of the essay. Now don't get me wrong. The purpose of this essay is not to object, but rather explain the reason, factors and logic behind these recent changes comprehensively. Am I making a point that they're a must to the wiki? No. In fact, I was less than willing when I was doing the checking process, but since no one came forward to report my experiment as an issue five days ago, I thought it was fine to continue.
I will get them cleaned up soon as I have time. First let me know about your thoughts. But please do so without adding comments assuming my irrationality, because doing such thing is illogical in itself. NoirlimeTalk | Contribs 13:25, December 17, 2019 (UTC)
tl;dr it's utterly pointless, this isn't jp.gta fandom.com, this is the English GTA Wiki and nobody is going to find this useful. Nor is it logical (your point still doesn't prove it's logical, ignoring past titles is biased on the wiki-front). I simply don't see the point. Monk Talk 16:49, December 17, 2019 (UTC)

An experiment to help grow your wiki’s engagement!

Hello! We’ve been analyzing what makes people spend more time on wikis and we’ve identified something. It’s comments! Having comments enabled on a wiki gives it a boost to the time people spend on the pages and engage with the wiki.

We would like to enable comments on your wiki to help it grow as part of an experiment.

This will not happen if you don’t agree with trying this out! It’s entirely up to you!

We believe that this experiment will help your wiki and if you have any problems along the way we can always roll back and disable comments.

So, what do you think? Are you interested in trying this with us? We’d love to work with you to help grow your community!

Looking forward to hearing from you! HeyTots (talk) 18:11, April 17, 2020 (UTC)

Discount Sections

Having discounts listed on item pages seems a more logical choice, especially for historic discounts to work out frequency of discounting and when the next discount is likely to occur. I didn't know this wiki documented event weeks until a few days ago, and it seems counterintuitive to make someone trawl though dozens of event pages to see when an item they're interested in was last discounted, if ever.

The wiki could do with a promotions/discounts portal, a central place where players, particularly new ones can find out about things that can net them free or discounted money/items, such as the 2-factor authentication and Twitch Prime bonuses. MikeWard1701 (talk) 19:43, May 2, 2020 (UTC)

I would highly not recommend that. While it does seem viable, it's hardly sustainable. Believe me, we've tried different attempts at bringing the news feature on the wiki, like Weekly News, the hidden discounted field left in the vehicles and weapon infoboxes, but none of them lived 'till the end. One factor in play: perseverance. It already took Matrex a lot of effort to round them up as proper articles (and link them, I should add), and it'd certainly be an utter nightmare to scatter individual event discounts back into item pages, making sure none were missed in the process. Rockstar didn't make life easier for us by including a search feature on their newswire, so it's not our job to wrap it up for them either. In cases where someone actually decided to tend to it but eventually left it half-finished, the responsibility would befall us staffers, who would also then decide to either continue or clean them.
Don't really know what you mean by "promotions/discounts" portal, but existing event week pages appear to fit your description most. Also keep in mind that all our documentation come directly from Rockstar's official website. When the information is exactly the same, people are more likely to rely on official sources rather than scroll through an extended list of pages on an unofficial wiki.
Long story short, news-related features aren't to be revived, not in a very long time. And until then, universal pages are the best we can have right now. Hope you understand. NoirlimeTalk | Contribs 21:05, May 2, 2020 (UTC)
I can kinds of see what you mean, by my quick calculations there would be over 300 weekly updates to go through and document. However it only took me, a relatively inexperienced wiki editor minutes to apply the last two weeks discounts to the respective item pages. Documenting every possible discount over last 6+ years of GTA Online would be a big task, it could be reduced however if criteria were established, such as a minimum discount percentage (e.g. 25%), or base item price (e.g. $1,000,000+). I’d still advocate though that some very expensive items should be given exception / priority and allowed to have discount information on page. It would be highly valuable for players to know how often and by how much extremely expensive items such as Galaxy Super Yachts, Offices/Garages, Nightclubs, Casino Penthouses, etc are discounted, as said discounts can save players millions of dollars by strategically waiting for discounts before purchasIng these items.
As you say, people come to the wiki for reference, not news, and their searches will be vehicle / weapon / property orientated, which gives all the more reason to put discounts on item pages.
With regard to promotions / discounts, I’m a returning player but still relatively new to GTA Online (only rank 26). I only found out about the ($250,000 / $500,000 / $1,000,000 can’t remember which) cash bonuses for setting up Social Club 2-factor authentication and Twitch Prime account linking because I visited the Social Club website on a whim.
Likewise, I only found out about the free Pixel Pete Paleto Bay arcade property and exclusive weekly Twitch Prime discounts from the Social Club website. How many players with Amazon Prime (Twitch Prime is free with Amazon Prime by the way) could end up purchasing an arcade not knowing they could have got one for free if they’d only linked their accounts?
Same goes for the “Treasure Hunt” Red Dead Redemption 2 tie-in. None of the in-game information tells you it’s worth $250,000 if you complete it, and it’s a great way for new players to make a good chuck of money.
What I’m saying is; this knowledge would be useful to new players and give them a significant jump start into the game. They just need a centralised portal to find it. MikeWard1701 (talk) 23:04, May 2, 2020 (UTC)
It really isn't needed. We have the info documented in two places already (the DLC tabber tables and the Event Week pages). IF someone want the info, a search for the item name and the word "discount" will produce results for each DLC/Event page that a discount appeared on that particular vehicle/business. It clutters already long vehicle/business pages with info that can already be found elsewhere.
Edit: The Rewards for the Treasure Hunt are documented fully on the appropriate place on that page. Not sure of the relevance to your argument. The Rockstar Games Social Club could do with some updating with linked account benefits. Arcades page clearly says Pixel Pete's is free for Twitch Prime members. Yea but its a Cutscene Weapon. NalexandruN (talk) 10:01, June 10, 2020 (UTC)NalexandruN

That page is meant to be an effective way to include a certain type of props all under an ambiguous article. Some of them resemble weapons not available in regular gameplay, and others are prop equivalents of in-game weapons. It doesn't stop them from being props and none beyond. Same reason the Shovel's prop appearances in other games are still featured in the weapon article, and not on a separate page. NoirlimeTalk | Contribs 10:21, June 10, 2020 (UTC)

You have to admit the T20 has sides that are at least inspired by the Laferrari

It's a way closer match than the Tushek ts 600 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ice finn (talkcontribs) Please remember to sign your talk page messages with ~~~~.

I wouldn't say they're inspired by the LaFerrari, as the car is a complete P1 knockoff, which sports similar sides as well. But yes, the wording currently on the section is incorrect, I'm fixing it as we speak.
And should you wish to conduct further edits on the wiki, taking a look at our Media Policy would be a good thing. Because not conforming with it could result in your images being deleted, like I've done to the three you linked here. NoirlimeTalk | Contribs 18:49, July 19, 2020 (UTC)

No, you help by inserting base templates and sections in accordance with the Manual of Style, which you can also follow by referring to other vehicle pages. UCP and image uploads

I'm not sure what you are using to upload your images since the transition to UCP, but adding the [[Category:Screenshots of GTA Online]] text does not license the image. Licensing the image adds them to the category, not the other way around. Matrexpingvin has licensed a heap of your recent vehicle design gallery image uploads for you (e.g. Special:Diff/1292534) but he shouldn't need to. We are already both doing hundreds of our own ones manually (after uploading with MsUpload in the source editor which does not allow licensing as you upload) without having to think about cleaning yours up too.
TL:DR - License your images properly please. Smurfy: illuminate - communicate - spectate 22:34, 30 January 2021 (UTC)

Further to this, I've just added https://dev.fandom.com/wiki/UploadMultipleFiles to our Mediawiki:ImportJS so Special:Upload now has a radio button to allow multiple file uploads with identical file types and licenses to be uploaded. Tested and working. Hopefully this makes life easier in UCP for us all. Smurfy: illuminate - communicate - spectate 11:26, 31 January 2021 (UTC)

Hello. It looks like you are no longer active on the wiki, with your last edits taking place three months ago, and activity prior to that was sporadic to say the least. If you are no longer interested in being an administrator, or other activities have taken priority and you no longer have the time to dedicate to the GTA Wiki, that's fine and understandable, but please let us know so we can make the position vacant. If there is no response to this in a month, you will be demoted automatically by policy. You will also be required to relinquish server ownership of the Discord. Thanks.
