Images Licensing/Naming

We kindly ask all of our contributors to please properly name and/or license all images that you upload to the wiki. Image licensing and naming is part of our official Media Policy, and as such, it is asked of all users to respect the policy and add a proper name & license when uploading as described here.

Whenever you upload an image to the wiki, towards the bottom of the page there is an option to add a license.

  • For images that are game screenshots, use the appropriate Screenshots & in-game logos.
  • For non-game screenshots (pictures taken from the web etc.), select This image is used under Fair Use.
  • For images that are not licensed, e.g. images you have created from scratch yourself, select This is in the Public Domain.

As a general rule of thumb, image names should follow the following pattern:

The name can be modified in the bar right above the "add license" option when you are uploading it, and must match with the Media Policy (a table of correct names can be seen here).

What you should do now
Because your recent upload was non-compliant, you are now expected to take steps to fix the issues with your file(s). There is a detailed tutorial on how to do this here.

If you have any questions about the policy, please use the dedicated section, or if you need assistance fixing your files, please contact me on my talk page or that of any other staff member.

Ignoring this message can lead to the file(s) you uploaded being deleted and possibly to a block if you continue to ignore the policy on subsequent uploads. For more information on licensing and copyright, see here.

Thank you!

The image you just added to the Buzzard does not has a proper name and does not follow our image policy. You should have named it as "OrangeBuzaard-(Game name).jpg" Please try to follow the image policy from now onwards.

Regarding your recent interactions with Monkeypolice188, please try to be a little more calm and polite. This being a public Wiki, there are always people attempting to add false information. If you wish to add incredibly rare, previously undocumented occurrences of the kind you are proposing, it is your job to prove that you aren't simply making it up. Monk is within his rights to question it; he doesn't mean an offence by doing so, he's merely trying to ensure the information being added is factually accurate and not the result of modifications. Please try not to be so aggressive in future, he's just doing his job, and certainly there are no grounds for reporting him.--UserSigLeighBurne (talk) 12:35, January 9, 2016 (UTC)

False Accusation of an Administrator

I'm sure of what you did to Monk was not a smart move. You do not threaten an administrator and claim "ownership" of an image with poor quality and by going as far as to display selfish attitude towards said administrator. Furthermore, threatening to falsely report him to the Wikia Staff (even if your "proof" is "viable") only makes you a bigger target for an instant block by either the admins or the staffs themselves so I'd watch the attitude if I were you. I don't mean to backseat, but that doesn't mean I can't stand up for different administrators and bureaucrats alike, so your negative kind of behavior isn't welcome here. Oh, and I highly doubt you have a YouTube page to display your so-called proof and even then, no one will ever pay attention to your videos. JohnSignature 12:37, January 9, 2016 (UTC)

In other words, you simply have no proof whatsoever (an "orange" Buzzard counts as a mod). As for autistic? Nice job at using "autistic" as a form of excuse, followed by making obvious lies which you don't really wish to admit means you'll be the one to apologize to Monk, not him. As for me being accused? Sorry, but you're already on thin ice so enjoy serving hard time by either Wikia Staff or administrators. Maybe then you'll think twice before spewing out words at me or everyone else, admins included. JohnSignature 13:35, January 9, 2016 (UTC)

Block changed due to threats against Monk

You have been blocked for violating the policy.

Verbal attacks on staff members is not something we take lightly. Regardless of your case, you NEVER threaten to have an admin demoted for doing their job. Banned. Leo68 (talk) 17:04, January 9, 2016 (UTC)
