GTA Wiki

Hello, Curtcool, and welcome to the GTA Wiki, the wiki about the Grand Theft Auto series that anyone can edit! Thank you for your contributions! We hope you will stick around the wiki and do even more!

Are you new to editing? Please visit Help:Editing and the Manual of Style to learn on how to edit on this wiki and other wikis you will come across, and the Help pages to know everything about Wikia.
Also, do not forget to edit your personal user page that you can edit to add anything you want, and tell us about yourself!

Here are some links that you may find helpful:

  • Recent Wiki Activity to check out and observe on the edits that are occurring and to help out on pages that need some editing done.
  • The Community Noticeboard to check out new ideas, updates, and expansions that will be applied to this Wiki. Your own ideas are welcome, too!
  • The Forums to ask questions about anything or start a discussion about anything.
  • Your personal user blog, to blog posts about what you think, and that anyone can comment.
  • Policies & Guidelines, a list of rules for you to follow, and will also help you make better contributions.
  • Be sure to check out the To-Do List if you ever need something to do. You may also add any sensible work to the list.
  • GTA Myths Wiki, the location of our myths (we do not allow them on our wiki).
  • GTA Fanon Wiki, the location of GTA fan work. Again, it is not allowed on this wiki.

If you need help or if you have any problems, ask me on my talk page, or you may contact our Staff. The Patrollers are highlighted in orange, the Administrators are highlighted in blue and the Bureaucrats are highlighted in green.

We hope you enjoy editing here, and look forward to seeing you around!

Sanitary One or more recent edits you have made seem to have been to change a term or spelling from UK English to US English or vice versa.

The wiki policy is that we accept both English UK and English US spelling, since the game is developed in the UK and set in the US. We don't need to specify both spellings on any articles, nor do we encourage editors to "correct" any spelling from one correct version to another. Note that vehicle pages are an exception, where spelling is dictated by the in-game country of origin of the vehicle as described on the Vehicles Manual of Style. Please avoid making further "corrections" of this nature.

Thank you.

I'd first like you alert you the major difference between its and it's:

  • It's = It Is. E.g, it is red.
  • Its = Belonging. E.g, "look at its roof!"

If you can't understand the simple difference, you cannot continue correcting their usage on this wiki, as it is now causing issues.

Secondly, please resort to the GTA Wiki: Manual of Style regarding US/UK English. There is a set way in which vehicles are written in terms of spelling. Monk Talk 18:46, April 23, 2017 (UTC)

You have been warned for violating the policy. If you repeat your actions, you will be issued with a block.

• Given reason: Persistent spelling issues and ignoring staff
• Issued by: Monk Talk 17:19, April 30, 2017 (UTC)

This is becoming an issue now. As I said before, if you can't fix this simple spelling issue, you will be banned from editing - I shouldn't have to correct such a simple rule that you are failing to abide to, but it's becoming more than enough. Monk Talk 17:19, April 30, 2017 (UTC)

You have been told repeatedly about the correct use of it's. From now on, any edit I find with this error will be reverted in its entirety. Smurfy: illuminate - communicate - spectate 21:05, May 3, 2017 (UTC)

You have been blocked for violating the policy.

As you have failed to even respond to the messages on your talk page, let alone abide to the advice given, you have been blocked for 1 week. Return only if you even begin to understand the advice given. Monk Talk 17:26, May 4, 2017 (UTC)

Have you still not learnt the difference between "its" and "it's", even after receiving warnings about this constant change? It's becoming seriously boring now. Learn it:

Help is everywhere. One more change, and I'm afraid it will have to be another block, as staff can't face this much longer - you have not even taken note of any talk page messages so far, have not replied, and have not shown awareness of your issue. Monk Talk 16:48, July 8, 2017 (UTC)

You have been blocked for violating the policy.

• Given reason: It's just not funny any longer
• Issued by: Kiwismurf

It's vs its again. The rest of your minor semantics edits are just not worth it. Smurfy: illuminate - communicate - spectate 13:04, September 30, 2017 (UTC)

Quick rule:
  • It's = it is
  • Its = possessive pronoun
