Hi, welcome to GTA Wiki! Thanks for your edit to the User talk:Gboyers page.
Hey. A while ago we were talking about uploading data files (such as handling.cfg) to this wiki. We've figured out our structure now - they should be subpages of the page about that file. So Handling.cfg/GTAVC as a subpage of Handling.cfg, and the same for Carcols.dat and others. As for categories, I think we'll stick with the main Category:Data Files category for now, but where there are lots of different uploads, (eg 10 different handling.cfg files) then they probably deserve their own category (and only the main article should be in the Data Files category). Does that make sense, and would you suggest anything different before we start uploading more? Thanks - Gboyers talk 13:21, February 22, 2010 (UTC)
- I must admit that I don't fully understand the category issue when exceeding 10 subpages but I'm sure that won't happen often. Otherwise, I don't really have anything else to say about this, it looks like it could work pretty well. Once all the files are uploaded then I'm sure it will be easy to create a "modding" Portal or something like that; but that's for later!
- If you are satisfied with my uploads so far then I'll upload the San Andreas files in the following days. I don't own other games however so my contributions are limited, but I'll happily supervise this project and make sure categories, URLs and formatting are respected. Sounds good to me - thanks for your help :). By that I just meant we can create a Category:carcols if there are going to be more than 5 pages in it. No point making a category that's only got one or two things in it (like for some San Andreas-only data files). I'm happy to let you run this project as much as you are able to, feel free to ask around and rig some other people into uploading files. Gboyers talk 18:31, February 23, 2010 (UTC)
- Ok man no worries ;) C_ee_X - 09:51, February 24, 2010 (UTC)
