I read that thing two days ago and could have mentioned it here directly, but it somehow slipped my mind. Anyway, some of you might have known why the next Grand Theft Auto game isn't getting released anytime soon, but for those who don't know, here we go.

In a recent interview, Dan Houser stated that Rockstar believe that far too many people might be offended by the game, considering the social/political climate we're living in these days. A summary of situation can be seen here, and the interview itself is written here.

"It's really unclear what we would even do with it, let alone how upset people would get with whatever we did. Both intense liberal progression and intense conservatism are both very militant, and very angry. It is scary but it's also strange, and yet both of them seem occasionally to veer towards the absurd. It's hard to satirize for those reasons. Some of the stuff you see is straightforwardly beyond satire. It would be out of date within two minutes, everything is changing so fast."
― Dan Houser

It's obviously disappointing that we'll be waiting a while before GTA 6 gets released. But quite frankly, this situation doesn't surprise me at all, considering the fact that nowadays you can't even breathe without offending people, angering SJWs, triggering attention seekers... *sigh* you get the idea.
