Recently I've been thinking. Why don't we merge the pages of cars like Jester Classic, Elegy Retro, Comet Classic, etcetera? Sure, they are new names in the series because of the 'Classic' suffix, but they're essentially the same models as the ones from older games but with a Classic behind their name.

Here I take Jester Classic as the prime example that led me to writing a blog post like this. It has its own page despite the same model being used in GTA San Andreas, but why really? Is it because of it having 'Classic' all of the sudden on its name?

What I propose is either merging Jester Classic with Jester* or inserting the GTA San Andreas information into the Jester Classic page, leaving the original Jester for the current generation only**. Then we'd take a similar course of action with the rest of our beloved generational cars.

  • "But they're two completely different cars, why should we have them in one page?"

They're technically the same cars, but different generations. This wiki had no problem back in the day with having the Buffalo and the S counterpart on the same page when the Buffalo S still had the generic Buffalo name. And neither did we have problems with the Schafter generations from IV. There's a lot of better examples, I'm sure, but I can't think of any as I'm writing this.

  • "But current gen Jester and old Jester from SA have the same names, and the Jester Classic sits seperate."

Here I whip out my biggest dealbreaker that I've wanted to mention this entire time I've been writing this. This wiki seems to have a really obvious love/hate relationship with car names and deciding whether different car names but same looks warrant a new page dedicated to just that one game iteration of the car. We've had this debate with the Sabre Turbo/GT, and as we speak the page that used to be about the Hunter is now called FH-1 Hunter, whilst information about the 3D Universe iteration called simply the Hunter remains on that same page. The same can be applied to the Rhino being renamed the Rhino Tank and the existential crisis of the Barracks having OL added and readded every second game. That's why I believe personally that, still taking the Jester as an example, the information about the Jester from GTA San Andreas should be put onto the Jester Classic page.

(Whether Injection counts to the "renamed for GTA V vehicles" list is up for later debate.)

I'd be glad to know what you people think of this whole ordeal, but my opinion is that when considering the renames case I feel like it'd only be logical.
