A Vapid police SUV is due to appear in Grand Theft Auto VI.
Description[]
The police car can be seen responding shortly behind another police car, along a road in Leonard County, in the first trailer (1:00). It is depicted with a green and white Leonard County Sheriff livery and is equipped with a blue/red LED lightbar.
Another version of the SUV is seen in the game's second trailer, shortly before it is exploded alongside a Buffalo STX police car on a highway (1:58). This model does not appear to have a livery, but still possesses a red and blue lightbar.
A variant operated by the Protection of Animals & Controlled Hunting is seen in an official screenshot, pursuing poachers fleeing through the Grassrivers in a Bison hauling a trailer.
A civilian version of the vehicle is also seen to exist in the first trailer.
The vehicle assumes a 4-door SUV design sharing design cues from the Interceptor-styled Police Cruiser.
Influence[]
The design appears to be derived from the Ford Police Interceptor Utility, which is a police package of the 2015–2019 facelifted fifth generation Ford Explorer. The headlights, hood, and front bumper seem to have been sourced from the sixth generation Explorer, which served as a base for the second-generation Police Interceptor Utility.
The liveries seen in Trailer 1 and 2 are inspired by the paint jobs of the Broward County Sheriff's Office and the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office, respectively.
