A Scarface-inspired hotel is due to appear in Grand Theft Auto VI, located in Ocean Beach, Vice Beach, Vice-Dale County.

Description

The hotel first appeared in the background of an extended version of the official artwork released alongside the game's first trailer, located on the Ocean Drive-inspired road in Vice Beach, neighboring the Atlantis Hotel. It later appears in-game in the second trailer, where it can be seen in the background as Jason Duval lifts weights at the outdoor gym across the road from it (0:38).

It features a ground-floor Bobby Hurricane's restaurant with outdoor seating.

Influence

The building is a rendition of 728 Ocean Drive in Miami Beach, Florida, once known as the Sun Ray Apartments, widely recognized for being featured as the "Sun Ray Motel" (also referred to as the "Sun Ray Hotel") in the 1983 film Scarface and its 2006 video game spiritual sequel Scarface: The World Is Yours. It now operates as a CVS Pharmacy branch, which opened on February 9, 2018.

The hotel's ground-floor Bobby Hurricane's restaurant is directly inspired by the Johnny Rockets location that once operated at 728 Ocean Drive, before being ordered to shut down due to health violations on January 28, 2016. Interestingly, on November 20, 2023, a Scarface-inspired restaurant called Montana’s Miami Beach opened next door to 728 Ocean Drive, on the ground floor of the Colony Hotel.
