"Uncle" Amir (Arabic: أمير)[1] is an unseen character in the Grand Theft Auto series mentioned in Grand Theft Auto Online as part of The Chop Shop update.
History[]
Background[]
Amir is a powerful Emirati social media influencer and is linked to the Amir Group Investments and the Amir family by marriage. Jamal and Yusuf refer to him as an "uncle", but in reality Amir is the brother-in-law of Jamal's mother's second cousin twice removed.
According to Jamal, his "uncle" is really nasty and tacky, and even got himself cancelled on social media at one point.
Amir owns the La'oub Princess cargo ship, regularly used to get cargo shipped across the United States to the Emirates, including art, gold, guns and cars.
Events of Grand Theft Auto Online[]
The Chop Shop[]
By 2023, Jamal is the manager of Red's Auto Parts, a salvage yard business owned by the GTA Online Protagonist and used as a cover for stolen cars to be salvaged or gifted to Yusuf Amir's luxury car collection.
Together, Jamal and the GTA Online Protagonist plan and perform multiple attacks on Amir's cargo ship in order to steal his luxury cars being shipped in the cargo ship's containers.
Aside from the luxury car, the GTA Online Protagonist may find other items belonging to Amir inside other containers during the robbery, including barrels of green-colored chemicals (briefly affecting the player's vision) and crates marked with the Altruist Cult symbol, the latter previously appearing inside the Fort Zancudo basement during the 2023 Sightseeing event. If the player finds one of the items, Jamal will comment "Hey, don't blame me for whatever weird shit my uncle has in there..." or "My uncle has some pretty weird... tastes, huh?"
