Counterintelligence is a mission featured in Grand Theft Auto Online as part of The Criminal Enterprises update. It is part of the Operation Paper Trail mission strand.
Description[]
Before the mission starts, ULP will call the player to reveal him the findings made from the hardware stolen during Intelligence; it confirms ULP's suspicion that the Duggans are indeed conspiring to fix the gas prices, and that they intend doing so by buying technology from the FIB's collection of seized assets.
However, the nature of the technology the Duggans are attempting to buy remains to be uncovered as the Agency is still analyzing the contents of the hardware. In the meantime, the player's intrusion into the FIB's heaquarters during the last mission have attracted undue attention to the Agency. To keep the Bureau at bay, ULP orders the player to conduct a counterintelligence operation against them.
using the SecuroServ hacking app to locate the base of operations.At the start of the mission, the player is tasked with hacking surveillance drones deployed by the FIB in response to their recent security breach, in hopes of finding a base of operation where the player could potentially retrieve more intelligence on the Duggan conspiracy. The two drones are flying around La Mesa and El Burro Heights, the player must get close and hack them using the SecuroServ app.
Once both drones have been hacked, ULP manages to pin down the base of operation at either the Bilingsgate Motel, the Pink Cage Motel, or the Perrera Beach Motel. The player must go to the motel and break into the room. However, nobody is found inside, ULP therefore asks the player to give him access to the computer controlling the drones in hopes of finding intel. As ULP goes over the data, he realizes that it is a sting set up by the FIB. Before the player can escape the room, it is flooded by an anesthesic gas which knocks them out.
The player wakes up in the back of a Youga Classic 4x4 in the middle of a vacant lot in Cypress Flats, surrounded by LSPD and FIB officers. ULP regains contact with the player and informs them that the FIB has set up a bomb inside the van in attempt to false flag it as a failed IAA operation. He then tasks the player with defusing the bomb, as the van can be used as a lever against the FIB in case their operation goes south.

and collect all the Packets whilst avoiding the Firewalls .The player is then given six minutes and two lives to defuse the bomb, by triggering a minigame of conducting a beam with various mirror nodes to break various packets and avoid the firewalls (in a similar manner to the terminals in The Doomsday Scenario). They must complete two stages.
Once the player disarms the bomb, they have to evade the law enforcement and bring the van to a IAA safehouse outside Sandy Shores. A health bar is displayed on the lower right corner, which they must ensure it is not depleted, while the wanted level will be permanent within the city. After losing the cops and bringing the van to the drop-off, the mission is completed.
