"Great Chaparral has the kind of lonely tranquility that consistently appeals to fugitives, melancholy romantics, serial killers in search of melancholy romantics, and committed off-roaders in search of a challenging lap race."
―Race description.

Troubled Waters is a land race featured in Grand Theft Auto Online as part of the continuation of the The Diamond Casino & Resort update, released on September 12, 2019, during the Krieger Week event. It is available for up to 8 players.

The race is a 30 checkpoint long Lap race.

It starts on the Vespucci Boulevard Bridge in La Mesa. The players race east until the end of Vespucci Boulevard, which is where they turn left twice and continue west, down San Andreas Avenue. At checkpoint 9, they turn right and continue down Sinner Street, before coming to a left-right chicane at checkpoint 10.

They continue down Strawberry Avenue, which then becomes the Los Santos Freeway. At checkpoint 14, a left hairpin turn leads the racers onto the slip road for oncoming traffic. At checkpoint 16, they turn left onto Popular Street, cross over the motorway, and then briefly turn left onto Glory Way, before turning left onto a dirt path at checkpoint 18.

The path takes the players past a warehouse and through the Mirror Park Railyard. Afterwards, they turn onto Little Bighorn Avenue and continue down this road until checkpoint 25. Here, they turn right onto Sinners Passage and then left onto Sinner Street.

At checkpoint 29, they turn left onto Vespucci Boulevard and continue to the start/finish line.
