Performance[]
Grand Theft Auto V and Online[]
The Mariachi Tornado performs identically to its standard variant as it shares its handling data with it.
Like the standard beater model, the Mariachi model tends to have a delayed engine ignition, which could become a problem in the event of a situation that requires a quick getaway.

Modifications[]
Grand Theft Auto Online[]
The mariachi variant cannot be modified, although it can be repaired in GTA V. In GTA Online, it originally had limited access to basic options, but with The Criminal Enterprises update, the mariachi variant could be given standard vehicle upgrades within the Mammoth Avenger, Mobile Operations Center or Facility Vehicle Workshop, including performance, suspension, and respray options. It is unclear if this was a bug or intentional by Rockstar Games. This version cannot be converted, and its Crew Emblem option is locked and cannot be applied.

Special Variants[]
Grand Theft Auto V[]
- A convertible mariachi beater version of the Tornado can be seen during the mission The Civil Border Patrol, with sombreros and guitars on the back seat. There is also a Mexican flag, ostensibly a sticker, on the area between the trunk and the backseat. The vehicle always comes in a dark red/gray color with a rusty appearance. This also spawns as a "Thelma and Louise" easter egg where it can be stolen and stored in both GTA V and GTA Online.
Grand Theft Auto Online[]
- A uniquely colored mariachi variant appears with some custom options in GTA Online in Payphone Hit: The Cofounder.

Prominent Appearances in Gameplay[]
Grand Theft Auto V[]
- Appears during the Civil Border Patrol mission "The Civil Border Patrol". Can be obtained and kept after completing the mission.
Grand Theft Auto Online[]
- A unique white and Torquise Mariachi Tornado owned by the The bitterSweet Cofounder appears centrally in Payphone Hit: The Cofounder, requiring destruction for the bonus.
Locations[]
Grand Theft Auto V and Online[]
- In the parking lot near the Ammu-Nation in Great Chaparral. It seems to spawn often when driving a beater Tornado.
- Spawns at 7:00 PM on a cliff near the Altruist Camp, it is surrounded by police and will drive off if not reached in time.
- Rarely seen on the intersection of East Joshua Road and Senora Freeway.
Radio Stations[]
- In Grand Theft Auto V and Online, the default radio stations are grouped by genre. The Mariachi Tornado uses the "Mexican" group which can play East Los FM.
Trivia[]
Grand Theft Auto Online[]
- The mariachi Tornado can be used in GTA Online races, albeit it is considered an Off-Road vehicle despite having no performance difference compared to the normal versions that would imply it is an Off-Road vehicle.
- At the 7:00 PM spawn point near the Altruist Camp in the mountains, two NPCs drive a mariachi variant Tornado off a cliff while surrounded by police. This is an easter egg referencing the end of the 1991 movie Thelma & Louise, where the two main characters drive their 1966 Ford Thunderbird off a cliff.
- It is possible to steal this Tornado in GTA Online if the player waits nearby for the event to begin, then uses a sniper rifle to kill the driver and passenger. Alternatively, if the car manages to survive, the player can simply drive it away.
