The Top Fun is a van featured in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.

Description[]

The Top Fun is a van that contains controls for RC cars, helicopters, and planes. The van exists in the internal files of Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories, but was cut during the development of the games.

Once entered, it automatically starts a mission involving RC vehicles. The various RC vehicles are used for missions which involve races or carrying explosives to targets.

Design[]

The Top Fun van is identical to the Pony, but has flat sides. The van is invariably painted white/grey with "Top Fun" logos on it. It also emits a different engine noise from the Pony, sounding like a gasoline/petrol engine unlike the diesel sound emitted by the Pony.

Performance[]

The Top Fun's performance is weak and sluggish. It has pretty much the same handling as its civilian counterpart, the Pony with no differences probably due to the fact that it was merely used as a trigger point for the RC challenges rather than to be driven directly.

Prominent Appearances in Gameplay[]

  • Demolition Man - Tommy accesses the van to control the RC Goblin and plants four bombs in Carrington's rival construction site, detonating them and destroying parts of it.
  • Bombs Away! - Tommy accesses the van to control the RC Baron and drops bombs over drug trafficking boats owned by the Cubans.

Trivia[]

  • The name of the van is obviously a pun of Top Gun, a 1986 film. Also, the the markings on the sides of the van are similar to the logo of the movie.
