The following timeline of events is based on the original DMA Design versions of Grand Theft Auto 2 (PC/PlayStation/Dreamcast), meaning that this list does not considers the multiple censorships and changes from the Tarantula Studios' Game Boy Color port of Grand Theft Auto 2, such as censored character names and the replacement of Claude Speed and the "Player Name" feature from the original versions with six predefined protagonists.
