The Waste Ground is, as its name implies, a derelict patch of land on a hill in Doherty, San Fierro, behind the Doherty Garage, featured in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
Description
The land is believed to be one of the last remnants of the damage caused by the 1988 San Andreas Earthquake, as the buildings remaining on site are in the process of being demolished. The site is presently occupied by Final Build Construction, with several huts and construction vehicles seen on the site, along with several construction workers.
Events of GTA San Andreas
The site is most prominently featured during the mission Deconstruction, when Kendl Johnson becomes irritated by the construction workers making inappropriate passes at her. In order to "teach them some respect", her brother Carl heads to the site, steals a Dozer and uses it to destroy the workers' huts. After destroying the huts, Carl buries a portable toilet containing a yard foreman in a large hole, before burying it in cement.
Following this mission, the site remains abandoned for the rest of the game, though the hole Carl buried the toilet in remains filled in.

Trivia
- In the Japanese version of the game, the Ballas own this property, and the workers and the Construction Foreman are presumably members of the Ballas. This was done for censorship reasons.[1]
