The Technical Custom is a compact two-door pickup truck which features a very linear design, similar to that of a fourth generation Toyota Hilux.
+
The Technical Custom is a modifiable variant of the Technical, where it retains the exact same design and properties as the regular Technical, except that a tow-hitch is added, able to tow another player's Anti-Aircraft Trailer. Some of the differences are the non-rusted body with rusted mirrors, wider fenders similar to the "Widearch kit" from the Rusty Rebel and its badge has been moved from its grille to the plate holder.

In-game, it is essentially a Technical, but adds a tow hitch on the back that is connected to a large frame coming from under the truck bed. It also has a non-rusted body with rusted mirrors, wider fenders, and its badge has been moved from its grille to the plate holder. Aside from its standard DShK on the rear bed, the Technical Custom has the option to add a mounted Minigun and armor plating for the chassis.
+
The vehicle can be modified with an array of visual modifications, being armor plates, ram bars, liveries and respray colors. It can be also modified to have either a DShK machine gun or a Minigun#Design and variants 7.62mm Minigun.
  +
  +
Once converted, it becomes a Personal Vehicle available for use in missions, be it Heists or regular Contact Missions.

;Vehicle
  +
In stock form, the Technical Custom essentially performs the same as the Technical, and is claimed to feature a V8 engine, sharing a V8 model too, which provides an above-average amount of power to all four wheels and is able to keep the vehicle moving without loss of traction. This can be slightly improved through performance upgrades.
  +
  +
Because of its increased mass, the Technical Custom is slower in comparison to the standard counterparts, although it also means better grip and traction, resulting in better acceleration and less chances to roll over. Its speed issue can be mitigated with performance upgrades, as well as improving the acceleration.

On road, the Technical Custom has ample acceleration and a reasonable top speed in line with other trucks. It stays flat in the corners for a truck with its size and height, but will have more chances to roll over due to the extra weight in the back of the truck. Its ride, however, is stiff and punishing. The Technical seats only two in its spartan cab, plus a gunner on its modified truck bed. The weight of the gun on the back will increase oversteer in certain situations.
+
;Armor
  +
Being an improvised combat vehicle and unlike the Insurgent Pick-Up, the Technical Custom does not have any sort of defensive capabilities against both targets on foot and combat vehicles, especially tanks and helicopters. The front occupants may get shot through the windshield and the gunner may fall of if the vehicle rolls over, either suffering a considerable damage or dying from being crushed by the same vehicle. The lack of armor also makes it vulnerable to explosives in general.

Off-road, the Technical Custom is easily one of the best off-road vehicles in the game. Its high ground clearance, 4-wheel drive and fat off-road tires allow the Technical to negotiate hills and rocks with ease, and it has a a bit higher chance of a rollover than the normal Rebel.
+
Although bulletproof windows can be fitted, they do not provide any protection to the cabin at all, as the front occupants can still be shot through from bullets by enemy NPCs and other players (similar to the same applies to the Weaponized Tampa, Nightshark and Insurgent Pick-Up Custom).

The diesel engine provides ample power, and will easily cause wheel spin when going up steep and slippery hills, but if the driver feathers the throttle, the Technical will make use of all of its grip well and climb hills easily. The Technical can reach relatively high speeds off-road, and landing right from jumps has the suspension taking in all the impact, leaving the body undamaged.
+
;Weaponry
  +
The vehicle can be modified to equip one of the following weapons:

The truck has a short wheelbase, although "beaching" the truck is still a danger the driver must watch, especially when rock climbing with the truck.
+
*Machine Gun: The first option is the standard .50 caliber machine gun turret, which has devastating power against pedestrians and unarmored vehicles. The vehicle is able to kill most NPCs and players in one to two hits and take down most helicopters or vehicles in less than twenty.
  +
*Minigun: The The second option is a rapid-fire 7.62mm Minigun, which behaves like many mounted miniguns found on vehicles like the Valkyrie. Although not very powerful, the high fire rate makes it great against unarmored targets and cars.
  +
<!--this description is to be made and used as standard for applicable weaponized vehicles-->
  +
*The vehicle has the option for installing Proximity Mines, which behave the same as any remote explosive and are operated by the driver. These mines are a bit stronger than their hand-held counterparts and are also limited to five active mines. Caution should be taken when using it, as it can potentially damage or destroy the vehicle.

*The Technical Custom comes equipped with a Soviet 50 caliber machine gun, which has devastating power against pedestrians and unarmored vehicles, making it a good choice for an escort vehicle. The vehicle is able to kill most NPCs and players in one to two hits and take down most helicopters or vehicles in less than twenty.
+
Similar to the Technicals, the turret itself has an excellent rotation angle of 360 degrees and elevation angle of between -35 and 45 degrees, providing impeccable defense against helicopters, pursuing cars, and targets at almost below the truck when in elevated areas.
*The second option is a mounted 7.62mm Minigun, which behaves like many mounted miniguns found on other vehicles. Although not very powerful, the high fire rate makes it great against unarmored targets and cars.

Because of the tow hitch, the Technical Custom can tow an Anti-Aircraft Trailer, increasing its weight and length, but also increases its firepower (as long as the trailer gunner do not accidentally destroy the vehicles if using the Missile Battery or Flak Cannon options).
+
;Trailer
  +
Towing an Anti-Aircraft Trailer in collaboration with another player gives the vehicle increased potential, as the trailer turret can provide additional defense when the main vehicle is supressing enemies. Caution should be taken when carrying the AA trailer, as it is possible to trigger a proximity mine that the Technical Custom has placed, destroying the trailer. The lack of armor from both the vehicle and the trailer mean that destroying one can cause severe damage to the other and vice-versa.
  +
*The stock MG option usually gives general flexibility against targets and one can protect the other gunner from behind. Focusing a single target with both turrets usually means increased damage.
  +
*The SAM option gives good capabilities at taking out long-range aircraft, compensating the lack of range and limited capabilities of the Technical Custom against armored vehicles. Land vehicles can be taken out with the SAM battery, but the low fire rate limits its effectiveness against armored targets.
  +
*The Flak Cannon option gives the vehicle a better way to defeat enemy heavy armor, again due to the Technical Custom's low capabilities against armored targets, but that means exposing the trailer directly to the enemy threat, especially tanks and weaponized aircraft.

V

The Karin Technical Custom is a custom armed pickup truck, featured in Grand Theft Auto Online as part of the Gunrunning update.

DescriptionEdit

The Technical Custom was originally introduced as a mission-only vehicle that could be driven by the player as a bunker supply. However, as of the Technical Custom Week event, commencing July 18, 2017, it became available for purchase.

DesignEdit

Grand Theft Auto OnlineEdit

The Technical Custom is a modifiable variant of the Technical, where it retains the exact same design and properties as the regular Technical, except that a tow-hitch is added, able to tow another player's Anti-Aircraft Trailer. Some of the differences are the non-rusted body with rusted mirrors, wider fenders similar to the "Widearch kit" from the Rusty Rebel and its badge has been moved from its grille to the plate holder.

The vehicle can be modified with an array of visual modifications, being armor plates, ram bars, liveries and respray colors. It can be also modified to have either a DShK machine gun or a GAU-17/A 7.62mm Minigun.

Once converted, it becomes a Personal Vehicle available for use in missions, be it Heists or regular Contact Missions.

PerformanceEdit

Grand Theft Auto Online Edit

Vehicle

In stock form, the Technical Custom essentially performs the same as the Technical, and is claimed to feature a V8 engine, sharing a V8 model too, which provides an above-average amount of power to all four wheels and is able to keep the vehicle moving without loss of traction. This can be slightly improved through performance upgrades.

Because of its increased mass, the Technical Custom is slower in comparison to the standard counterparts, although it also means better grip and traction, resulting in better acceleration and less chances to roll over. Its speed issue can be mitigated with performance upgrades, as well as improving the acceleration.

Armor

Being an improvised combat vehicle and unlike the Insurgent Pick-Up, the Technical Custom does not have any sort of defensive capabilities against both targets on foot and combat vehicles, especially tanks and helicopters. The front occupants may get shot through the windshield and the gunner may fall of if the vehicle rolls over, either suffering a considerable damage or dying from being crushed by the same vehicle. The lack of armor also makes it vulnerable to explosives in general.

Although bulletproof windows can be fitted, they do not provide any protection to the cabin at all, as the front occupants can still be shot through from bullets by enemy NPCs and other players (similar to the same applies to the Weaponized Tampa, Nightshark and Insurgent Pick-Up Custom).

Weaponry

The vehicle can be modified to equip one of the following weapons:

 • Machine Gun: The first option is the standard .50 caliber machine gun turret, which has devastating power against pedestrians and unarmored vehicles. The vehicle is able to kill most NPCs and players in one to two hits and take down most helicopters or vehicles in less than twenty.
 • Minigun: The The second option is a rapid-fire 7.62mm Minigun, which behaves like many mounted miniguns found on vehicles like the Valkyrie. Although not very powerful, the high fire rate makes it great against unarmored targets and cars.
 • The vehicle has the option for installing Proximity Mines, which behave the same as any remote explosive and are operated by the driver. These mines are a bit stronger than their hand-held counterparts and are also limited to five active mines. Caution should be taken when using it, as it can potentially damage or destroy the vehicle.

Similar to the Technicals, the turret itself has an excellent rotation angle of 360 degrees and elevation angle of between -35 and 45 degrees, providing impeccable defense against helicopters, pursuing cars, and targets at almost below the truck when in elevated areas.

Trailer

Towing an Anti-Aircraft Trailer in collaboration with another player gives the vehicle increased potential, as the trailer turret can provide additional defense when the main vehicle is supressing enemies. Caution should be taken when carrying the AA trailer, as it is possible to trigger a proximity mine that the Technical Custom has placed, destroying the trailer. The lack of armor from both the vehicle and the trailer mean that destroying one can cause severe damage to the other and vice-versa.

 • The stock MG option usually gives general flexibility against targets and one can protect the other gunner from behind. Focusing a single target with both turrets usually means increased damage.
 • The SAM option gives good capabilities at taking out long-range aircraft, compensating the lack of range and limited capabilities of the Technical Custom against armored vehicles. Land vehicles can be taken out with the SAM battery, but the low fire rate limits its effectiveness against armored targets.
 • The Flak Cannon option gives the vehicle a better way to defeat enemy heavy armor, again due to the Technical Custom's low capabilities against armored targets, but that means exposing the trailer directly to the enemy threat, especially tanks and weaponized aircraft.
