I've never heard of this term before. The term that sound correct for this kind of camera position is "third person perspective."--spaceeinstein 06:47, September 24, 2010 (UTC)

There's only Third-Person View in the GTA series

"I might be mistaken, but: I believe that in games like GTA1 and Chinatown Wars since you see the avatar on screen, and you don't look and move as if you were the avatar himself - trough his eyes (First-Person Perspective) those games should also be considered as having a Third-Person View.

The only First-Person Perspective gameplay featured in the Grand Theft Auto series was trough mods, but the games we're always viewed from a Third-Person Perspective. Wether the game is or is not 3D does not influence this." Eruul2012 09:26, December 29, 2011 (UTC)
