While it looks like it due to it being based off of Dodge, its far from resembling as the General Lee from Dukes of Hazzard. Due it its armored nature, its more of a vehicle from a 2008 film Death Race. <font style="Matisse ITC"><span style="color:#;background:#DF0709"><font color="black"><b>"Don't worry,</b></font></span></font>----<font color="Red">it's only collateral damage."</font> 15:12, December 19, 2014 (UTC)

Yes, I agree that "Death Race" comes to mind also and that's why I referred to it as a nastier cousin. However, if I remember correctly, there were no old Chargers among the vehicles in DR.

That's why I'm suggesting that the name is a mixture of both: DUKES of Hazzard and DEATH Race. "Duke O'Death ('of Death')" could suggest that this might be what General Lee would be like if the Duke boys took it to the Death Race. At least it's fun to imagine that situation. :D

Especially considering that the random unlocking event takes place in the countryside bearing resemblance to both wreaking havoc in the Hazzard county and the more grim events of the DR, I just can't believe the name to be purely coincidential; an (apparently) '69 Charger dressed ready for the Death Race found in the middle of hillbillies and named "Duke O'Death".

Forgot to mention the obvious: The "Dukes" car (which is what this is based on) clearly takes its name from "The Dukes of Hazzard", as stated in the trivia section. Since the DO'D has so strong "Death Race" elements, it's only logical to assume the name to be a mixture of both movies.

As stated above, the reference to Death Race is very clear. While the production design of Death Race did take some influence from the Mad Max interceptor, the naming and design of the DoD clearly references the Death Race implementation of the design.  smurfy <small>(coms)</small> 04:16, March 22, 2015 (UTC)

GTA V

For these vehicles can we label it as the "Advanced Edition" of GTA V? It will stop confusion as labelling it 8th gen of GTA V, then people may think it is the 8th GTA V game, and PS4/XBOX 1/PC will make it more grammatical. Leo68 (talk) 23:53, October 29, 2014 (UTC)

How to get it

Somebody took a picture of the first person view of the Duke OD, so, somebody can please say in the article where and how we get this beast? Everyone will the thankful AndreEagle17 (Talk) 19:37, November 18, 2014 (UTC)

Origins of the name?

About the name, the first resemblance that occurred to me was "General Lee", the Charger in the TV series and film "Dukes of Hazzard". This car feels and seems like its even nastier cousin. Am I the only one?

Name/Death race relevance

As stated above, the reference to Death Race is very clear. While the production design of Death Race did take some influence from the Mad Max interceptor, the naming and design of the DoD clearly references the Death Race implementation of the design.  smurfy (coms) 04:16, March 22, 2015 (UTC)
