Stephen "Steve" Banks was a level designer and mission programmer at DMA Design until 2001 and later a lead designer at Rockstar Dundee.
Career[]
Banks helped program the missions of Grand Theft Auto and also assisted with map design for both it and Grand Theft Auto 2. He was the designer of San Andreas in Grand Theft Auto and the Residential District in Grand Theft Auto 2.
He left DMA Design in 2001 and decided to go to Real Time Worlds along with William Mills and Billy Thomson. Outside of DMA, he did the design of Digital Illusion's Rally Masters: Race of Champions, was an assistant producer for Motorhead, but also worked in Sheffield-based Gremlin Interactive and in another company called Warped Minds.
Banks later joined Rockstar Dundee, where he was credited as a lead designer on Grand Theft Auto Online.
