The Staple Gun is an unused weapon cut during the development of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.
Design[]
Appearing exclusively in the game files for the original PlayStation 2 release of the game (v1.40), the Staple Gun (internally named "stapleg") is a heavy duty staple gun, possibly intended to be available for purchase in Hardware Stores. This type of weapon was an early attempt by Rockstar North to introduce a Manhunt Nail Gun-style weapon in the Grand Theft Auto series.
The model was deleted from the game files in later versions of the game alongside other unused weapon models, as Rockstar North remodeled and renamed certain weapons with copyrighted names.

- The Staple Gun's texture is a duplicate of the texture image used for the Katana and the Knife, with the gun's image placed on the bottom right of the texture.
- The texture image of the Staple Gun (and the original Knife from GTA Vice City) can still be found inside the texture container file for the Katana in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.[1]
