Speedophile is a personal watercraft manufacturer appearing in the HD Universe of the Grand Theft Auto series.

Influence[]

Speedophile appears to be based on Sea-Doo, a Canadian brand of personal watercraft and boats manufactured by Bombardier Recreational Products.

The name "Speedophile" is implied to refer to an individual who loves speed. However, the correct term for this is "tachophile" although it is also a typical Rockstar play on words being a portmanteau of "Speedo" and "paedophile", referring to a derogatory stereotype^[1] of older men wearing a specific brand of tight swimming briefs and acting like paedophiles.
