The Vapid Slamvan is a two-door pickup truck appearing in Grand Theft Auto V and Online as part of the Festive Surprise update, and due to appear in Grand Theft Auto VI.
The truck returns from the 3D Universe where it also assumed the design of a two-door pickup truck, albeit more modern in design.
Description[]
Grand Theft Auto V and Online[]
The van was added in the Festive Surprise 2015 update and appears as a pickup truck adaptation of the Lost Slamvan (also formerly named Slamvan) previously appearing in The Ballad of Gay Tony, which also returned to GTA Online later that year.
Grand Theft Auto VI[]

The roof of a black Slamvan can momentarily be seen in the first trailer, parked next to a donked-out Vapid sedan and a Ford Mustang-inspired muscle car at a car meet in the Stockyard neighborhood of Vice City (0:28). The Slamvan also briefly appeared in the September 2022 GTA VI leaks, driving northbound in blue past the Gas Stop branch in Port Gellhorn.[1]
Influence[]
Grand Theft Auto V and Online[]
The Slamvan appears to be based on the second generation Ford F-Series pickup with some cues from the Chevrolet Advance Design. The top half of the cabin suggests that it is a 1953–1955 model, whereas 1956 models had a wrap-around windshield.
Design[]
Grand Theft Auto V and Online[]
The Slamvan is depicted as a classic pickup truck sharing the same front design as its van variant, but featuring a truck bed and rear-facing split window. The truck bed looks similar to the Bobcat from Grand Theft Auto IV, but has side border extensions, wooden floor and a tailgate with "VAPID" embossed on it. The rear bumper and tail lights were derived from the Towtruck (another vehicle that shares many similarities in terms of design), albeit cleaner in appearance. The interior uses "Bobcat" textures and dials.
The primary color of the vehicle is applied on the main body, while the secondary color is applied on the hood, upper part of the cabin and the upper borders of the bed. It shares the same wheel design as the Towtruck, being a derivative of the "Classic Rod" wheels also available in Los Santos Customs.
Performance[]
Grand Theft Auto V and Online[]
The Slamvan has a customized V8 with four double-barrel carburetors, with a sound similar to the Duke O'Death, The Liberator, and Marshall. In-game stat bars and testing has shown it has the same performance as the Rat-Loader and its clean variant, the Rat-Truck. Thus, it has average acceleration and top speed, matched with very poor brakes and traction.
