Not much is known about the player itself, as it cannot be watched by the player. Only posters of the player can be seen advertising the play outside theaters, including the Magic Curtain theater where the play is shown. According to the poster, the production is a "spiffing new play". Their posters also have Teknikolor word marks on them.
The story is described as a "bard trip", a clear twist on the drug term "bad trip", while the use of "bard" is a direct reference to Shakespeare himself.
