Liquidize Assets is a security contract featured in Grand Theft Auto Online as part of The Contract update. It is a Free Mode mission that can be conducted in any session type by CEOs, VIPs and MC Club presidents.

Description[]

Franklin Clinton will call the player outlining a target that needs to be tailed to find the assets that need to be destroyed. The player will be provided a duffel bag containing Satchel Charges for later use.

Scenarios[]

The scenario can vary.

Arms Dealer Tail[]

So, another day, and the arms dealers of Los Santos want another favor. I swear gettin' invited over to their country club has got me more work than any other evenin' of my fuckin' life.
This time, they want us to take out some small timers who tried to go pro selling some cheap fuckin' ammo. From what I hear, sounds like a mob operation to me.
We got no idea where the fuck they at, but Imani's just pinned one of they fuckin' goons that might be able to lead us to 'em. Tail they ass and find out where they at.
— Franklin's description

Franklin advises that their arms dealer clients needs a small time operator shut down.

The target to tail is at Vinewood Plaza in Downtown Vinewood. He travels in a Schafter V12 Blips-GTAV-326-GetawayCar-Blue directly to the warehouse. A detection meter is shown on screen during the tail. If detected, the forces at the destination will be aggressive immediately on entry, otherwise the player retains the element of surprise.

The player must enter the warehouse and deal with the Armenian Mob forces inside and destroy five ammo crates before placing three Satchel Charges on the walls and escaping within the 30 second charge timer (care should be taken, as the crates can only be destroyed with explosives and have a moderate blast radius, enough to kill a player or destroy the vehicles inside). As soon as they exit the warehouse, the player receives a 3 or 4-star wanted level which must be evaded to complete the job.

Counterfeit Tail[]

'Ey, listen up: you know the Del Perro Plaza? Yeah, that fine dining place over on Bay City Avenue? Well, the owner's a client of ours... and I just got off the phone with him. Turns out his restaurant is one of the biggest money laundering fronts in the city.
But he got a problem: yeah, some Kkangpae fools running a new counterfeiting ring. And that's bad for business... you know, who needs money laundering if you can print the shit for free?
He needs us to figure out where the fuck they at, and burn they shit down. I say tail one of their helicopters, and see where the fuck they hidin'.
— Franklin's description

Franklin calls the player, telling them that he just got off the phone with the owner of the Del Perro Plaza restaurant who is a client of theirs. Their money laundering front is under threat from counterfeiters.

The player is tasked with going to LSIA to tail a SuperVolito to the high-rise hideout. A detection meter is shown on screen during the tail. If detected, the forces at the destination will be aggressive immediately on entry, otherwise, the player retains the element of surprise. The helicopter flies to the roof of a building. In case the player is unable to reach the roof, a Maverick spawns atop the Daily Globe building for them to use.

The nearby helicopter (icon) can be used to get to the roof and access the Kkangpae hideout.

Once on the helipad, they enter the roof access door just below and find the hideout located on the building's 21st floor, filled with Armored Kurumas, Wiwang dryers, and counterfeiting equipment.

The player must kill the Kkangpae within, destroy five boxes of counterfeit bills, and plant three satchel charges on the support beams of the room. Once done, they must escape the hideout within the 30 second time limit before the charges explode, and then lose their wanted level.

Merryweather Tail[]

A'ight, look, suit up. We got some Merryweather mess to clean up. Seems like those fools got some new surveillance project running... cameras snooping all over everywhere.
And if there's one thing that the A-Listers I know don't want in this town, it's a shit ton of video evidence. 'Ey, every client I got? They want this fuckin' thing burned down. My phone been ringing off the fuckin' hook.
Look, Imani's got the name of the guy running the project, so tail his ass back to the base. Get in there, wipe out the whole surveillance equipment, and torch that motherfuckin' place.
— Franklin's description

Franklin advises that Merryweather have initiated a new surveillance system in the city which all his clients want to see shut down.

The target to tail is at Little Teapot in Rockford Hills. He travels in a Mesa Grande Blips-GTAV-326-GetawayCar-Blue directly to the underground base. A detection meter is shown on screen during the tail. If detected, the forces at the destination will be aggressive immediately on entry, otherwise the player retains the element of surprise.

The player must enter the underground garage and deal with the Merryweather forces inside and destroy five pieces of surveillance equipment, before placing three Satchel Charges on the walls and escaping within the 30 second charge timer. As soon as they exit the underground base, the player receives a 4-star wanted level which must be evaded to complete the job.

Moonshiners Tail[]

'Ey, y'know what? If there's one thing I've learned about hanging around these MBA-type motherfuckers, it's that once they start going legit and start paying taxes, they get real pissy with anyone that don't.
So check this out: our client today runs Cherenkov Vodka. Their sales been takin' a fuckin' hit, and it's because their consumer base moved to some blackmarket moonshine the Lost MC's have been pumpin' out.
They want us to make that shit go away. Blow up the equipment and all that shit. I just sent over the coordinates.
— Franklin's description

Franklin advises that the CEO of Cherenkov Vodka has a problem will a moonshine operation taking their market share.

The target to tail is at The Lust Drop on Milton Road in West Vinewood. He travels on a Hexer directly to the distillery. A detection meter is shown on screen during the tail. If detected, the forces at the destination will be aggressive immediately on entry, otherwise the player retains the element of surprise.

The player must enter the distillery and deal with The Lost MC forces inside and destroy five moonshine crates before placing three Satchel Charges on the walls and escaping within the 30 second charge timer. As soon as they exit the distillery, the player receives a 4-star wanted level which must be evaded to complete the job.

Pararazzo Tail[]

A'ight, look, you goin' like this one, trust me. It's always fun fuckin' with the pararazzi...
So, you heard of Kerry McIntosh? She needs us to tail this pap who's finally got their hands on a real money shot. Seems like she wanted to leak something, but she ended up leaking everything, ya feel me?
You job is to follow the pap back to the lockup and plant some motherfuckin' bombs in there. Might be over the top, but... shit, we wanna make sure the camera equipment is gone, gone, you feel me?
— Franklin's description

Franklin advises that Kerry McIntosh has a problem with the paparazzi and needs some photographic evidence destroyed.

The target to tail is at Mom's Famous Tacos in Rancho. He travels on a PCJ 600 directly to the lockup. A detection meter is shown on screen during the tail. If detected, the forces at the destination will be aggressive immediately on entry, otherwise, the player retains the element of surprise.

The player must enter the lockup and deal with the pistol-armed Merryweather Security Security Guards and melee-armed paparazzi inside and destroy camera equipment in five cases; while the game recommends using 'explosives or fire' to do so, simply using a gun will do. Afterwards, the player is directed to place three Satchel Charges on the walls and then escape within the 30-second timer once the last charge is set. As soon as they exit the lockup, the player receives a 3 or 4-star wanted level which must be evaded to complete the job.

Oversights[]

  • The driving AI used for the tailed NPC uses a modified variation so it drives faster and more aggressively. This often results in pathfinding errors where NPCs will fail to avoid obstacles or take unusual detours. In some cases, the NPC might even die from reckless driving, failing the mission.
  • The detection meter during the tailing part of the mission does not seem to work properly, as it will never fill up even if the player drives right next to the NPC. This however does not affect the detection mechanic itself, as the player can still get spotted by the NPC if they tail him too close for too long.
