“Stealing this caliber of car in Los Santos will be no simple feat. Jamal’s operation involves robberies and a weekly rotation of target vehicles that Yusuf is fixing his sights on for his collection. Each robbery entails scoping out some initial intel, completing Preps and new Freemode Tasks, and culminates in a high-speed Finale.”
Salvage Yard Robberies are a series of missions with Robbery Contract-style setups, featured in Grand Theft Auto Online as part of The Chop Shop update.
Description[]
After purchasing a Salvage Yard, Jamal Amir will introduce the Planning Wall and computer to the player. There, the player can choose from one of a set of three vehicles that cycles out weekly, each increasing in value. Players must then complete Planning Work, Robbery Tasks, then the robbery itself to obtain the car. Players must be registered as a SecuroServ VIP, an Organization CEO or a MC President in any Free Mode lobby type in order to use the Planning Wall. Players can call Jamal at any time to cancel the current active contract.
Once a vehicle is selected, Jamal will provide a synopsis and task the player to scope out the area where the mission will take place. After returning from the scope-out, three Planning Work missions, one of which is optional, will open up to the player to complete in any order. Along with planning work, 3–4 Robbery Tasks (one of which is optional) will also appear for the player. These missions can be completed at any time in Free Mode by approaching the map blip and contacting Jamal within the green corona.
Once the car is obtained, the player may choose to either drive it to Terminal to sell to Yusuf Amir directly, or to break down for scrap at a reduced reward cost, but without the risk of losing value from vehicle crashes. The player may also elect to hold onto the vehicle and complete additional Robberies to collect up to three more vehicles, at which point they may sell all vehicles at once to Yusuf, provided they have enough Associates/Bodyguards to transport the vehicles at once.
An option for the player to "Claim the Vehicle" as their personal vehicle is made available in the second part of the same update, on March 13, 2024, allowing the player to obtain certain target vehicles for a small fee of $20,000 or ($10,000 for Document Forgery Office owners), including their special license plates introduced in the same update.

Each target vehicle targeted by Jamal Amir has a unique background story.
Gameplay-wise, these background stories are not tied to a specific vehicle, but the robbery itself. For each of the five available robberies, one background story is given for the player's first playthrough. After completing a robbery, subsequent replays of the same robbery will give three different stories, which are randomly cycled.

Oversights[]
- There is a bug on PC that will delete the License Plate from the claimed car after restarting the game. The unique text stays, but the License Plate reverts to default. However, The original plate remains as long as the car stays in the player's Salvage Yard. This has been patched with the Bottom Dollar Bounties update.
