The Remote Grenade is a weapon found in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories. It is also known as the Detonator Grenade in GTA: Vice City.
Design[]
3D Universe[]
The Remote Grenade is basically a normal Grenade, but detonation is not with a timer but with a remote Detonator. All iterations have the same appearance with the normal grenade of each respective game.
Performance[]
3D Universe[]
The Remote Grenade is practically as lethal as its normal equivalent, only that because of the remote capabilities, taking out moving targets is much easier and the player can take their time to move away if they fail to launch the grenade properly.

Oversights[]
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City[]
- Upon passing through the metal detectors at Escobar International Airport or Leaf Links, the remote grenades will be replaced with regular grenades at the entrance.
- Upon 100% completion on the original PlayStation 2 release, throwing a remote grenade will make the detonator remain in the inventory due to the infinite ammo reward. To remove the Detonator, the player would need to buy other weapons, die, get arrested or go through a metal detector (as above). This has been fixed in later versions.
