Recovery Time is a Casino Work mission featured in Grand Theft Auto Online as part of The Diamond Casino & Resort update. It is a freeroam mission given to the player by Agatha Baker.
Description[]
There are two scenarios for this mission, chosen randomly at the start. The player has 15 minutes to complete the mission once started.
Impound Lot[]
Agatha informs the protagonist that a resident high roller had their car impounded, and asks the protagonist to retrieve it.
The player is directed to go to either the LSPD Auto Impound or Vespucci Police Station. Once there, they need to collect the keys; this can be done stealthily as the officers only have detection cones that can be maneuvered around. Taking them out with silenced weapons does not count as stealth, and they will still be alerted. When the keys, which are guarded by one patrolling officer, are obtained, the player needs to get within a short distance to unlock the car remotely with the key fob, which can be done from the other side of a wall.
At Vespucci Station, assuming stealth has been maintained, when the car is entered – an Entity XXR or Schlagen GT – the detection cones will be disabled, allowing the player to drive off the lot, but seconds after leaving, a 2-star wanted level will be attained, which needs to be evaded.
At the Auto Impound lot, however, the car is fully within the detection cones of two officers. This makes a confrontation before leaving the lot inevitable, regardless of whether the player decides to go straight into the unlocked car or take out the pair of officers first.
Vagos[]
Agatha informs the protagonist that one of their guests had had their car stolen by the Vagos, and as the owner doesn't want to get the police involved, she asks the protagonist to retrieve it.
The player needs to make their way to the Rancho Projects, where a group of Vagos is located. Members of this gang need to be killed until one drops the keys of an Itali GTO. Once the keys are found and picked up, the player needs to unlock the car and steal it. Vagos members will give chase.
In both scenarios, the car needs to be delivered back to the casino's parking garage. If the vehicle gets too damaged, it can be taken to Los Santos Customs, where repairs will be free. In the Vagos scenario, pursuing Vagos will immediately disengage and drive away when the player exits LSC. Once the car is delivered, the mission ends and Agatha calls the protagonist.
