The Coil Raiden (Japanese: ć©ć¤ćć³, Raiden) is a four-door electric sports car featured in Grand Theft Auto Online as part of the Doomsday Heist update.
Design
Grand Theft Auto Online
The car seems to be heavily based on the pre-facelift Tesla Model S, with tail lights similar to an Aston Martin Vanquish. The vehicle has very similar styling to the Jackal, another 4-door coupe.
It has a simplistic interior dashboard cluster consisting a "KW" dial replacing the traditional tachometer and the speedometer. A predominant vertical multimedia display sits in the centre of the dashboard in similar fashion to the real Tesla Model S. Amusingly, the onboard computer features a disc player.

Performance
Grand Theft Auto Online
For an electric sports sedan, the Raiden has phenomenal takeoff when accelerating after coming to a full stop, in contrast to its good handling and great top speed as well, along with its good turning radius. It can also accelerate fast when reversing. Durability is quite fragile, however, and its body panels fall off rather easily in an event of a rollover, and isn't too great in dealing with collisions and gunfire as well.
The Raiden appears to be powered by two electrical batteries powering each pair of wheels, denoting its all-electric nature. Both batteries give direct transmission to each wheel, explaining the great acceleration.

Trivia
General
- Although not bearing any resemblance to Japanese cars, the Raiden's name itself can refer to the word "é·é»", literally "thunder".
- It is one of few vehicles in the game with physical floor pedals, rather than using generic textures.
- Its steering column features a flappy paddle gear shifter, an atypical feature for an electric vehicle.
- The default radio stations of the Raiden are FlyLo FM, Los Santos Underground Radio, and Soulwax FM.
Grand Theft Auto Online
- Unlike other electric vehicles in GTA, the Raiden lacks a battery compartment within the hood or trunk, and is instead located underneath, much like the real-world counterpart Model S.
- When damaged enough, smoke will emit from both the front and back of the vehicle, despite it being powered by electricity.
Bugs/Glitches
