Once the player has reached Reputation Level 5, they can start participating in the Pursuit Series.
The races are available for 4 to 16 players. The host can also choose to include custom vehicles or not; however, only tuners can be selected, which includes all cars added with the Los Santos Tuners update. There are other permanent restrictions that are unusual compared to other race types: the Time of Day is set to Night, and the radio station is the Media Player, which cannot be turned off.
The events behave similarly to normal Point to Point races, with a few differences. There is now paint on the ground marking the starting line and the grid, and there are spectators around the starting area. Shortly after making their way to the first checkpoint, a wanted level is triggered, which becomes progressively more difficult after passing the next checkpoints, up until the finish line. The default wanted level setting is three stars, with a maximum possible setting of five stars.
Unlike traditional races, there is no defined ideal route between checkpoints, so players can make their own path or take a different route if police vehicles are blocking the road, while keeping the pace to stay in the lead of the race.
List of Pursuit Races
There are seven races. These are listed in the "Races" list, with the "Pursuit Race" prefix.
- Pursuit Race - A Real Education
- Pursuit Race - Get Trucked
- Pursuit Race - Good Bet
- Pursuit Race - Groving
- Pursuit Race - Industrial Action
- Pursuit Race - It's Terminal
- Pursuit Race - Join the Club
Participating in a Pursuit Race will reward the player with 50 LS Car Meet Reputation (75 first time), although this has a 24-hour cooldown before it is awarded again. Finishing a race will also grant the player reputation depending on their finishing position and the total number of racers in the event.
