For the Heist Finale, see The Prison Break.
Prison Break is the second Heist available to be completed in Grand Theft Auto Online. It was added in the Heists update.
Description[]
Someone's looking for a crew, to take a score, but I don't know any more. I thought maybe you'd be interested.
Personally, I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot barge pole, because I don't know any of these people, but if you're interested, be my guest. I can tell them to come see you.
Lester Crest calls the GTA Online Protagonist after The Fleeca Job to inform them that he's working on a potential new score, but has received word of a job offer in the meantime, of which he was told little detail other than that a crew was needed. He states that he personally "wouldn't touch it with a ten foot barge pole" because he doesn't know any of the players, but thought the protagonist might be interested in taking it and can pass along their address.
Shortly after the call, the player can go to his or her high-end apartment and let a knocking clean-cut man inside and subsequently points the way to the planning room so he can set up, while the host answers the door buzzer for the rest of the crew. With the crew assembled, he will introduce himself as the bystander of an organization that needs the crew's services, informing them that he is not employing the players but only offering them an opportunity.
The crew is briefed on getting one Professor Maxim Rashkovsky out of Bolingbroke Penitentiary and handed an enlarged prison mugshot. Rashkovsky was once head of research for the army, a brilliant polymath with three doctorates and expertise in not only weapons development but genetics and engineering. He is also an equally vain, overconfident, egotistical, maniacal control freak sociopath. Surprised that the Protagonists don't know of him, the Agent clarifies that the professor did indeed commit the crimes that he was convicted of, among them espionage, "but let's just say that money talks and he's going to walk," and while Rashkovsky is a traitorous rat, he does pay what he owes.
Agent 14 outlines the first three objectives that can be completed in any order to prepare for the breakout: a Vagos drug transport plane that's perfect for getting Rashkovsky out of the country; hijacking a Bolingbroke transport bus from its route to Paleto Bay; a copy of the inmate transfer schedule by two crewmembers undercover infiltrating the Mission Row Police Station, and at the same time, the other two crewmembers secure Rashkovsky's prized Lampadati Casco, believed to be stolen by a luxury car thief ring and being prepared to ship to Korea. With that, Agent 14 reminds them once again that Rashkovsky pays well and leaves them to complete the first three setups.
The Heist consists of four Heist Setups and one finale. It can be completed with a total of 4 players.

Trivia[]
- It is very probable, due of the nature of the heist, and the planner's odd behavior, that this mission is in favor of the IAA or another government agency, outsourcing their black ops to criminals.
- The heist shares the same name with FOX's TV show Prison Break.
- Evidenced by audio files, there was a 5th setup mission planned. This setup mission, Prison Break - Riot Vans, would have involved stealing a Police Riot van for use as an escape vehicle during the heist finale. In the final heist, the Police Riot is simply located in the parking lot, ready for the players to steal and use as transport to the plane. This mission was likely cut as it was deemed unnecessary.
