For a similarly named car in Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories, see V8 Ghost.
The Polaris V8 is a four-door muscle car in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories.
Design[]
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories[]
The Polaris is primarily based on a four-door version of the 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner with a grill that resembles a Dodge Challenger muscle coupe with the front indicator and headlights switched, but both cars are two-doors as opposed to the Polaris' four doors. Its four door configuration comes from the second generation AMC Matador. The car is only available in one color scheme, a black body with orange stripes and a white roof.
Performance[]
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories[]
In terms of engine power, the Polaris V8 is a good muscle car, due to its implied V8 engine and its supercharger, allowing it to achieve very high top speeds courtesy of its good acceleration, effectively being the fastest sedan in GTA Vice City Stories. While the car may occasionally suffer from burnouts during cornering due to its rear wheel drive and powerful torque, the car is still fairly good in turns, especially when the handbrake is applied. its four-door design is also excellent for those who want to hire gang members to perform drive-bys on enemy gangs. The aggressive-sounding, powerful high-displacement V8 engine may be inspired from the 1975 Mercedes-Benz 450 SEL 6.9, which is regarded as one of the most powerful sports sedan of the late 1970's.
Its performance is possibly similar to that of the Mafia Sentinel, Sentinel XS, and the Grand Theft Auto III rendition of the Cartel Cruiser.

Trivia[]
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories[]
- For unknown reasons, this car lacks a trunk. This is likely an oversight during development.
- Despite the fact that this vehicle features multiple color schemes in the game files, it only ever spawns with a single color scheme, as it has a set texture. However, the 'real' primary color can be noticed by crashing the vehicle and paying attention to the color of the crash particles. This is a characteristic shared with the Patriot, the Gang Rancher and the ammo truck variant of the Barracks OL.
- The car's internal name is "pimp", alluding to the vehicle's usage for the prostitution side mission.
