The PlayStation 4, (stylized as PLAYSTATION 4), or PS4, is Sony's fourth gaming console and the successor of the PlayStation 3 and predecessor of the PlayStation 5. It is in direct competition with the Xbox One and the Nintendo Wii U and Switch and was released on November 15, 2013.
It is more powerful than the PS3; moving away from the Cell Architecture of the PS3. It consists of an 8 core AMD Jaguar based CPU, a GPU based on an AMD Radeon 7870 and 8GB GDDR5 unified memory. On September 7, 2016, a high-end version named PlayStation 4 Pro was released, which featured an upgraded GPU and a higher CPU clock rate to support enhanced performance and 4K resolution in supported games.
Grand Theft Auto games on the PS4
- Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online with Full-HD resolution, enhanced graphics and more content was released on November 18, 2014.
- As of December 5, 2015, Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas have been released on the console as downloadable enhanced PlayStation 2 classics with trophy support.
- Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition was released for the console on November 11, 2021.
