Pharaoh Cosmetics is a manufacturer of cosmetics in the HD Universe of the Grand Theft Auto series.
Description[]
In Grand Theft Auto IV, the company has a shop located in The Triangle, Algonquin. In Grand Theft Auto V, they have a store on Prosperity Street Promenade, Del Perro. Neither of these play any role in the storyline of the games whatsoever.
Influence[]
The design of their stores resembles the cosmetics brand Sephora, while their billboard and A Sense of the Nile product appear to parody TRESemmé.
The aesthetics of the brand are based on ancient Egyptian history and mythology. The text logo and branding of products appears to visually replicate hieroglyphs, while the logo icon resembles the Eye of Horus. The brand itself is named after the title of the dynastic ruler of ancient Egypt, the Pharaoh.
The names of products also make references to Egypt; A Sense of the Nile references the Nile river, as well as being a play on "A sense of denial". Their other product "Sun God", might be a reference to Ra, the deity of the sun in Egyptian mythology.
Locations[]
- There is a Pharaoh Cosmetics store on Prosperity Street Promenade in Del Perro, Los Santos, inspired by the Sephora store on the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica, California[1].
