Patrick Ligner is a character who is mentioned in Grand Theft Auto IV, and Episodes from Liberty City.
History[]
Background[]
Patrick is a lawyer and co-founder of the Goldberg, Ligner & Shyster law firm, alongside Tom Goldberg and Dick Shyster. He is not seen during GTA IV, but his photo can be found on the official Goldberg, Ligner and Shyster's in-game website.
According to the law firm's website, Ligner is dedicated to bettering society. He became well-known after bankrupting the law school he recently graduated from with only one lawsuit. He went on constructing cases against his undergraduate college, high school, and elementary school. He wrote the book "Five Easy Ways to Spot a Lawsuit: Rudimentary Case Construction", which became a Liberty Tree bestseller and Weazel News Book of the Week.
Events of Grand Theft Auto IV[]
Patrick is expected to be taking the remainder of cases that Dick Shyster takes over from Tom Goldberg after Goldberg's death, as it's said that Shyster will be taking most of Goldberg's cases.
Trivia[]
- In the mission Wrong is Right, an email from a Larry Ligner working at GLS can be found on Oleg Minkov's computer. Supposedly, this was either Patrick's original name or Patrick and Larry are related.
- His character model - which is also used for Mr. Parker – is also the model used for a generic Italian and Jewish mobsters.
