Headwind is an Open Wheel Race featured in Grand Theft Auto Online as part of the Los Santos Summer Special update, released on August 11, 2020. It is available for up to 16 players.
Description[]
The race is a 31 checkpoint long Lap race, default to 10 laps. The pit lane is located between checkpoints 29 and 1.
The race takes place entirely above the RON Alternates Wind Farm. Players start on the pit straight facing north, and once the race commences, they race down the remainder of the straight, around a long sweeping left-hand corner and down a shorter, fairly straight piece of track.
After this, they are met with two 90-degree corners, followed by a long left-hander and a pair of hairpin turns. These are followed by another 90-degree corner, a left-hand hairpin turn, and a fast left-hander, bringing them to a short straight, which ends with a right-hand corner.
What follows is a slight kink to the left and then a tight, right-hand hairpin turn, followed by a very short straight and then two open, left-hand hairpin turns. The racers then make their way down another short straight and around a fast-paced chicane. This is followed by a relatively straight piece of track, ending with a fast left-hander and then a set of three tighter corners.
Finally, they come to a left-hand hairpin turn which also leads them down the pit straight, where the start/finish line is also located.
