- ―Race description.
Brace for Impact is an Open Wheel Race featured in Grand Theft Auto Online as part of the continuation of The Diamond Casino Heist update, released on February 27, 2020, during the Open Wheel Races Week. It is available for up to 16 players.
The race is a 21 checkpoint long Lap race, default to 10 laps. The pit lane is located between the start and checkpoint 2.
The race takes place entirely at LSIA and starts on the pit straight on the west runway. The players race down the straight, coming to a left-hand 90-degree corner, followed by another one soon after.
Then, the players come to a tight, right hairpin turn, followed by another left one. These are followed by a relatively short back straight, leading the racers under the terminal building. Immediately after passing under the structure, there is a left-hand corner with a bit of run-off area. After this, the racers come to a right hairpin turn, followed by a left-hand kink and then a short straight.
At the end of the straight, there is a left-hand kink, followed by a right-hand corner after passing under the terminal building again. Soon after, there is a double apex corner, followed by a four-corner chicane. This is followed by a left-hand corner leading to the pit straight and to the start/finish line.
As the circuit features many 90-degree corners and two hairpin turns, a formula car with a grip setup is recommended.
