The name was derived from the real-life Napalm, an incendiary weapon often equipped by fighter jets, notably during the Vietnam conflict by the US Air Force. This implies that there was a third fighter jet after the Hydra and the P-996 Lazer, and it may have been based on some kind of 1960's fighter jet, making it quite possible that the jet is an early iteration of the Besra, which is based on a hybrid of such jets.
The vehicle was likely intended to be today's Valkyrie, as the Valkyrie has texture files named "napalm". Since the Valkyrie's real-life counterpart's variances are commonly associated with the Vietanesse War, where Napalm played a significant role, it can be assumed Napalm was the name of the beta aircraft. The Valkyrie's handling is very similar to the Napalm's, also supporting this.
