Multistorey Mayhem is one of four checkpoint side missions in Grand Theft Auto III. It is mandatory to achieve 100% completion.
Description[]
This side mission is found in the Newport Multistory Car Park in Newport, Staunton Island. This mission is difficult to find in the original version without advance knowledge, because it is activated by entering any Stallion while it is parked in front of the car park. This requires the player to bring a Stallion, get out, and get back in again. In The Definitive Edition, however, a destination marker will be placed outside the right entrance to the car park whenever the player is driving a Stallion in Staunton Island, together with a GPS route leading to it. The player simply has to drive over it to start the mission. The marker is only visible if the player has never successfully completed the side mission, but subsequent attempts are still started by driving over the same section.
The player starts with twenty seconds on the timer, and they must collect a total of twenty checkpoints located throughout the car park, each one adding an additional five seconds. The checkpoints are located between pillars and in odd corners, requiring good driving and planning. The player will fail the mission if they exit or destroy the Stallion, or if they run out of time.
