Mount Kalaga National Park is a national park located on the northern border of the State of Leonida, due to appear in Grand Theft Auto VI.

Description

Mount Kalaga National Park's natural formations generally consist of rugged forests, canyons and riverways. Hobbies and pastimes in the park include fishing, kayaking, hunting, and offroad racing. The national park hosts wildlife such as deer, cougars, and foxes.

Influence

The landscape of Mount Kalaga National Park is largely based on that of Georgia and northern Florida, with its canyon seemingly being inspired by Providence Canyon State Park in southwest Georgia. The name Kalaga is derived from the Cherokee word ᎧᎸᎬ (kalvgv, pronounced KAH-luh-guh)^[1] meaning "east" or "sunrise".

The river flowing through the park appears to be a rendition of the Suwannee River, which runs through northern Florida and southern Georgia. The rail bridge spanning it may have been modeled after the Hillman Bridge, which crosses the Suwannee River in Ellaville, Florida.
